Tyler Peet (9) comes to the checkered to capture the Sportsman Modified win and the two-thousand-dollar first-place check. It would be the second straight night of action for the Short Track Super Series as they would head down the St. Lawrence River and Route 37, making their second annual trip to the Mohawk International Raceway and the running of the Showdown at the Border, along with the Sportsman Modified and the 4 Cylinders After all the quafying races were done the first main of the night would be the Short Track Super Series and there 50 lap evet and the race would actual go caution free but that would not mean the racing wasn't intense on the track. Jackson Gill would take the lead from the start of the race and would hold it until around lap 15, when Mat Williamson passed him for the lead. From there, Williamson would pull away from the field. The battle for third place that night would be between Matt Sheppard, David Hebert, and Chris Raab, with each taking third at different times. Ultimately, Matt Sheppard secured third and completed the podium. As for the winner, it would be Mat Williamson for the second straight, and he would cash in the ten grand check. Although Matt Sheppard would continue to pad his points lead in the North Series by 131 points over David Hebert. Next up would be the Sportsman Modified for their 335-lap event with zero cars in the pit. However, only the top 26 would be selected for the main event. The event would also go caution-free for the 35 laps. Josh Jock would take the lead from the start and try to pull away from the field as they pursued the $2,000 first-place check. Although there would be challenges, such as a pair of ine cars with Tyler Peet and Joe Toth, and with around ten laps to go, Tyler Peet would get around him for the lead and get the win on the night, and also keep his points lead on the STSS series. To finish off the night, the 4 Cylinders would take the stage, with 27 starting, as they pursued the $800 first-place check in their 20-lap event. The race would see CJ Lavair start on the pole and lead the whole way for the win, although he would have a challenge from the winner of the previous night at Can Am Speedway, in the likes of Corey Valade, and moving up 11 spots from where he started, Mathieu Voghell would round out the podium. The Mohawk International Speedway will be back in action on August 15 with a regular show, along with backpack giveaway night. As for the Short Track SuperSeries, they will return to action on August 21 with the Dirty Jersey from the New Egypt Speedway. Gallery

After all the heat races were run, the first feature of the night would be the main event of the evening with the Short Track Super Series. Twenty-two cars would make the bell to battle for the $5,000 first-place prize. The leader at the start would be Zack Payne. He would be pulling away until there was a mid-race caution that would bunch up the field, and Matt Williamson would start on the outside, and that would be it, as Matt Williamson would take the lead and just be pulling away. The show of the race would be watching Matt Sheppard come from the back of the pack after a mid-race pit stop, picking them off, but he would just run out of time, finishing 5th on the night. As for the win, it would go to Matt Williamson and Tim Fulle, and Chris Raabe would round out the top three. Next up would be the STS Sportsman Modified, as they would send 26 cars to the ring to go after the $$ 1,051 win. As for the race, it would be over before it got underway, as Donovan Lussier would start on the pole and go wire to wire for the win, although it would not go without challenge, as Cedric Gauvreau would get second, and Tyler Peet would finish out the top three. The night would conclude with the 4 Cylinders, which might have been the highlight of the night. The top four, Corey Valade, Tony Frezzo, Francis White, and Jared Gibson, would trade the lead throughout the race until Corey Valade pulled away down the stretch to claim the win. The Short Track Super Series returns tomorrow, August 5th, as they head up Route 37 to invade the Mohawk International Raceway. Katrina Leclaire (12) and Kamden Duffy (42) battle for the lead in the OReilly Auto Parts Limited Sportsman Modified 25 lapper that would see Duffy get his first win of theseason. It would be the annual return of the Short Track Super Series to the Devils Bowl Speedway for the fourth edition of the Slate Valley this time, though going 67 laps along with the Sunoco Sportsman Modified, O'Reilly Auto Parts Sportsman Modified, and the Fisher Auto Parts Mini Stocks. The night's first feature would be the main attraction with the Short Track Super Series and the Slate Valley 67, which would see Felix Roy get the early lead of the race. Still, Matt Williamson would run him down and take the lead. The two off them would put on a great battle for the lead but with around 25 laps to go Stewart Fresien would get around Roy and take the second place and then the classic battle would be upfront between Williamson and Fresien with Fresien closing in there would be a caution with ten laps to go and on the restart Matt Williamson would be off. Fresien had no answer, and Williamson would win on this day with Fresien second and Felix Roy third. Then it would be on to the Hoosier Limited Sportsman Modified and their 20-lap race, and it would see Adam LaFountain get the lead off the start of the race. Still, the battle upfront for most of the race would be between Kamden Duffy and Katrina Leclaire, with Duffy earning a late race pass for the win. Then it would be the Sunoco Sportsman Modified for their 30-lap race, and see Brian Whittemore get the lead off the start. Still, he would have a challenge for most of the race in the likes of Joey Scarbrough, and Scarbrough would get the best of him on this night for the win as Whittemore and Siemons would finish off the top three. Then to finish off the night, there would be a pair of Fisher Auto Parts Mini Stock features, and it would see Jacob Mallory and Jeremy Brownell getting the wins on the night. Shane Pecore (0) would pick off Fire Swamp (88) as he charged from his fifth place starting spot but Gauvreu would have to big a lead on this day. It would be the north stop on the River Valley Builders North Tour for the Short Track Super Series their 18th overall for the series and their first-ever stop to the Mohawk International Raceway they would bring 33 of the best-modified drivers along with Sportsman Modified and the Pro Stock. The Modifieds would need a Last Chance Qualifier to decide who would get the last seven spots in the field of 27 for the 50-lap event. When the main event started the odds on favorite to win on the night would be Stewart Friesen after all he was the fastest in time trials and won his heat race easily. When the race was underway it would be Friesen and David Hebert on the front row and Friesen would zoom out to the lead there would be a couple of early cautions before lap 20 and on the second one Hebert would get around Friesen for the lead but the lead would only last a few laps and Friesen would take the lead back. But there would be a rumbling from the middle of the pack as Matt Sheppard who started 13th would keep picking them off as he rolled to the front of the pack and with ten laps to go he would have Friesen in his sights and the classic rivalry would be at it again on the broader tonight. With three laps to go Sheppard came off of turn two and almost runner his night on the backstretch wall and lost a second Friesen but he hugged the bottom for the next two laps and would get Friesen at the line by about a car length for the win. Chris Raabe would round out the top three as he came from sixth place on the final lap. Then we would have 35 laps for the Pro Stockers with $1,000 going to the winner. The race would start with Ian Bresset and Zack Daniels on the front row and the early leader would be Bressett there would be a battle up front through the early stages of the race between Bressett, Burton Ward, and Denis Gauvreau but in the end, the winner would be Dakota Sharp that came up from the ninth spot to get his second win of the season over Bressett and Gauvreau. Then to finish off the night would be the Sportsman Modified as they would run the Lonewolf Sportsman Special and there would be no doubt on the winner this night as Cedric Gauvreau would say see you later to the field and rounding out the top three would be Shane Pecore and Casey Swamp. The J+S Steel Sportsman Modified main would have good racing all night long including three wide at times as seen with Dylan Rabtoty (22), Tanner Forbes (29), and Jonathan Toohill (2JT) taking it three wide in the corner off the restart. It would be the biggest show of the 2024 racing season from the Airborne Park Speedway as the Short Track Super Series would make their first-ever appearance on the track and there would also be the Sportsman Modified, Renegades, and Mini Stocks on the night. The Short Track Super Series would bring 31 of the best big block modifieds and they would only be starting 24 for the 70 lap 7,070 to win the race. As for the heat races on the night the winners would be Anthony Perrego, Tim Fuller, and Alex Payne, and the winner of the last chance qualifier would be Chris Raabe Then it would be onto the 70-lap feature and the boys would come to race as they would do the first 62 laps caution free and that would be the only caution on the night but that would not mean the racing wasn't good as Anthony Perrego and Mike Maresca would battle up front most of the night and swap the lead back and forth and in the end Perrego would get the win and the 7k check as Michael Maresca and Alex Payne would round out the top three on the night. Then as for the other divisions on the night, the Renegades would have their 25-lap main and it would see a battle up front for the second half of the race between Tylor Terry and Zack Daniels in the end Tylor Tery would get the win for his second win on the season already. Then we would have the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified for their 30-lap event and $1,500 to win on the night and would see an early race battle between Robert Gauthier and Matthew LaValley. Still, in the end, it would be the classic duo up front going after the win with Nick Heywood and Ttavis Bruno going after the win and in the end, Nick Heywood gets the win over Travis Bruno with Fire Swamp rounding out the top three. Then to finish off the night it would be the mini stocks in their split mains for 20 laps in the first feature it would come down to a battle between the family of Bressete as Speedy and Steven going after the win with Speedy getting the win on the night over Steven and James Whitney would round out the top three. Then it would be the Mini Stocks' second main to finish off the evening and this one would be the Jake Fountain show as he would run away and get the win over Kris Clark and Ryan Senecal to get the win on the night.
