Plattsburgh State's Jimmy Poreda with the stick saves as he closes down the post of one of his 29 saves on night. It would be the second semi-final game of the W.B. Mason Winter Classic and it would feature the host Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the Wentworth Leopards. It would take the home Cardinals a bit to get going but they would end the first period on a hot streak with three goals in the final three minutes from Rich McCartney, Liam Lawson, and Joe Kile for a 3-0 lead. In the second period, the Cardinals would get a pair of goals to expand on there lead coming from Samir Abouelhana and Christian Dahl. While the Leopards would get a goal from Jake Hallisey to break up the shutout bid and make it a 5-1 game, In the third period the Cardinals would go into conservation mode and ride out the period to save energy for the finals tomorrow and give up one goal to Nate Chase and secure the 5-2. In the winning effort, Christian Dahl would lead the way with 2 points and Jimmy Poreda would have 29 saves as the Cardinals go to 4-6-1 on the season, The Cardinals will be back in action tomorrow evening as they will play the Elmira Soaring Eagles in the finals of the W.B.
