Wentworth's George Kolovols (8) with the game winner in overtime to get the 3-2 win over #10 Wilkes. It would be the second day of the Comfort Inn Winter Classic, and start with the consolation game between the #10 Wilkes Colonels and the Wentworth Leopards from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The Leopards would get the game's opening goal at the 7:55 mark of the first period from Ian Worthley to give them the 1-0 lead. The Colonels would come back and tie the game at 1the 2:12 mark of the period on the rebound goal from Christian Blomquist, and that's where the first period would end. The game would stay there until the 5:18 mark of the third period when the Leopards would take the lead on the snip from George Kolovos for the 2-1 lead. Then, with the goalie pulled in the closing minutes of regulation, the Colonles would tie the game up on the Miles Harrington score with 1:38 left. The teams would head to overtime, where George Kolovos would get the game-winner on the rebound to complete the upset victory. Jack McGovern would make 48 saves on the afternoon in the winning effort for the Leopards, as they would go to 5-8-2 on the season and upset the #10 Wilkes Colonels. As for the Colones, they would fall to 9-5 on the season as Duncan Rolleman would make 25 saves in the loss. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Aaron Catron (12) comes down on the breakaway attempt as they look to extend their lead against the Leopards. It would be the 2025 edition of the Comfort Inn Winter Classic from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena, and the second semi-final on the day would see the host Plattsburgh State Cardinals take on the Wentworth Leopards, with the winner getting the #15 University of New England Noreasters in front of 1200 fans. The game would start well for the home Cardinals as they would get the opening goal from Jack Ring. The Leopards would come back two minutes later with a short-handed goal from Alex Walicki to tie the game at 1. Then the Cardinals would answer back at the ten-minute mark with two goals in 35 seconds from Kevin Weaver Vitale and Colin Callahan to make it 3-1 after the first period. When the teams returned for the second period, the Leopards would make it a one-goal game again just a minute into the Mighton Johnson goal to make it a 3-2 game. However, the Cardinals would return at the 7:47 mark of the period on the Brannon Butler goal to regain their two-goal lead at 4-2. It would be short-lived, though, cause the Leopards would answer back 35 seconds later on the Nicholas Ramm goal to make it a 4-3 game. The game would stay there till the closing minute of the game when Riley Sutherland would add an empty netter for the Cardinals to secure the 5-3 victory. Jacob Hearne would make 18 saves in the winning effort as they go to 7-5-1 on the season and will take on the #15 University of New England in the Comfort Inn Winter Classic finals. It would be the consolation game of the Comfort Inn Complex Winter Classic and would feature the Wentworth Leopards and the Potsdam State Bears. It would take a bit to get the game going but the Leopards would get the opening goal of the game at the 11:52 mark of the first period on the powerplay from Josh Faussett for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till just under five minutes left in the second period when the Leopards would strike again on the powerplay from Nikolas Sombrowski for the 2-0 lead. Then the Leopards would be looking to put the game away early in the third period with the powerplay with the goal by Nolan Lowe at 5:31 to make it 3-0 Leopards. although the Bears were not going to go out without a swing as they would score 56 seconds later from Ryan Mahlmeister to make it 3-1. With 7:54 left in the game, the Leopards would regain the three-goal lead at 4-1 on goal by Jacob Shankar. Although again the Bears would strike right back 37 seconds later on a goal by Michael McArthur to make it a two-goal game again at 4-2. The Bears would keep fighting and with just over five minutes left in the game they would make it a one-goal game on the powerplay goal from Drew Rose. That would end the comeback attempt by the Bears though although not without chances down the stretch including a 6x4 in the final minute that they could not find the equalizer on. It would be the second game of the day at the Comfort Inn Winter Classic and the host #15 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would be meeting up with the Wentworth Leopards for their first home game of 2023 in front of 1,100 fans. The game would start well for the home Cardinals as they would score just 2:13 into the game from Ryan Bonfield for the Cardinal's 1-0 lead. Although the Leopards were not just going lay down and let the Cardinals walk away with the game as they would even the game up at 1 at the 7:38 mark of the period on a goal from Luke Jefferies. The Cardinals would answer back in the final two minutes of the period on a goal from Luk Jirousek and take the 2-1 lead at the break. Although the Leopards were not going away and would come back again and tie the game at 2 at the 11:18 mark of the second period on a goal from Nolan Lowe. Once again the Cardinals would answer late in the period this time with under 30 seconds left in the period on a goal from Bennett Stockdale to take a 3-2 lead into the second intermission. From there Cardinals would hold on for the win as Brendan Young would score twice in the third period to seal the game away for the 5-2 victory. In the winning effort, Jacob Hearne would make 20 saves as the Cardinals go to 9-3-2 on the season and will face arch-rival #9 Oswego State Lakers in the championship of the Comfort Inn Winter Classic. The conference foes from the Commonwealth Coast Conference would meet in a nonconference game for the consolation game of the 2020 WB Mason Winter Classic at Plattsburgh State. The Gulls would get the opening goal of the game at 6:43 mark from Elliott Clemmons. Although the lead would be short-lived as the Leopards would answer right back 12 seconds later and tie the game up on the Connor Beaudet goal to make it 1-1. About five minutes later at the 11:29 mark of the first period, the Gulls would retake the lead at 2-1 on Jason Kalinowski's second goal of the night. In the final 30 seconds of the period, the Leopards would tie the game at 2 on the Connor Beaduet second goal of the game. The game would stay there till the third period when Endicott's Jason Kalinowski would get his hat trick goal at the 11:48 of the third period. to make it 3-2. Then about three minutes later the Gulls would put the icing on the cake with 4-2 win on the goal by Zach Mazur. With the win, the Gulls will finish the weekend 1-1 and get third place in the 2019 WB Mason Winter Classic. Gallery.
