The Plattsburgh State Cardinals openned up the 2009-2010 season #1 in the nation at home and would bet SUNYAC oppenet Geneseo 4-2. Pictured Plattsburgh State's Eric Satim (12) battles along the boards with the Geneseo defender for possesion of the puck in the offensive zone. Plattsburgh State Cardinals vs Geneseo Ice Knights October 30th 2009
The Plattsburgh State Men's Hockey team ranked #1 in the country started of the 2009-2010 season at home against SUNYAC oppenet Geneseo. In a game that would see the Cardinals trail 1-0 after the first three minutes of the game. The Cardinals would tie it back at 1 late in the openning period. Then in the second period the teams would trade goals going into the final period tied at 2. Then in that final period the Cardinals would score twice in 16 seconds to get the 4-2 win in front of the home crowd.
