Then early in the second period the Lady Jeffs would take 1-0 lead and would add another one later in the period to the 2-0 lead heading into the final period. The Lady Jeffs would take the 3-0 lead early in the 3rd period. Then Cardinals would start there come back getting two goals within 2 minutes with still 8 minutes left on the clock. Oswego would open up the scoring 6 minutes into the first. The Cardinals would answer back to tie the game at 1. in the second minutes of the 2nd period on the Paul Puglisi goal. Oswego would reassume the lead 5 minutes later. Then just 90 seconds later Alex Jensen would tie the game up for good. The #6 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Brockport State Golden Eagles for the home opener of the season. The Cardinals would make easy work of the Golden Eagles gaining the 5-1 victory. In a game that would be rough and tumble throughout the Cardinals would come up on the short end of the stick losing 3-2 in overtime. Norwich would get the opening goal to take a 1-0 lead after the first. Then in the 2nd period, the Cardinals would tie it up at 1. Then just a few minutes later the Cadets would take the lead back 2-1 lead. Then in the final minute of the 2nd period, the Cardinals would tie the game back up at 2. That is where the game would stay until the Cadets got the game-winner with 2 minutes remaining in overtime on a very questionable power play. With the loss the Cardinals season would come to end in the NCAA Quarterfinals with a final record of 20-8-1. Gallery
