The Plattsburgh State Cardinals pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2018 WB Mason Winter Classic champions. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Babson Beavers in the finals of the 2018 WB Mason Winter Classic. The Cardinals would strike first with the opening goal 11 minutes into the first period from Cole Stallard. The Cardinals would extend the lead 2 minutes into the second period on the Rich McCartney goal to make it 2-0. The game would stay there till the 7-minute mark of the third period when Rich McCartney would get his second goal of the night to make it 3-0. The Beavers would get on the broad with 5 minutes left in the third on a Patrick Flynn goal to make it 3-1. Then with under two minutes left the Cardinals would add an empty netter from Greg Malafronte to secure the 4-1 victory. Tufts Elephants @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals W.B. Mason Winter Classic Semi-Finals NCAA Division III Men's Hockey January 5th 2018

Plattsburgh State's Connor Logan (12) with the high body check on the Elephant defender to knock him off the puck. It would be the semi-finals of the W.B. Mason Winter Classic featuring the Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the Tufts Elephants. The game would remain scoreless until the 2:55 mark of the second period when Matt Quality would open up the scoring. Then just 47 seconds later the Cardinals would extend there lead to 2-0 on Andrew Pizzio goal. Then just over a minute later the Cardinals would strike again on Antoine Desnoyers's goal to make it 3-0. Then with 19 seconds left the Cardinals would make it 4-0 on Ross Sloan's goal. Then four minutes into the third period Anthony Fournier-Gosselin would score to secure the 5-0 victory. The Lakers would get the opening goal of the game at 8:20 of the first period from Michael Gillespie. The game would stay there until the 7:48 mark of the second period when the Lakers would score on the power play thanks to Mitch Emerson to make it 2-0. Then at the 15:38 mark, the Lakers would score twice in 23 seconds from Joseph Molinaro and Mitch Herlihey to make it 4-0. The Lakers would add another one at 3:44 of the third period to make it 5-0 from Cameron Berry. Then the Cardinals would do there best to make a game of it as Phillip Middleton would make it 5-1 at 9:18 of the third period. Then at 13:13 Jesse Neher would strike to make it a 5-2 game. The #1 Harvard Crimson would meet up with the #3 Cornell Big Red in the championship of ECAC Hockey. The Harvard Crimson would get the first goal of the game on Ryan Donato's power-play goal at 14:46 of the first period for a 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till 16:08 of the second period when Harvard's Luke Esposito would score to make it 2-0. The Crimson would expand there lead to 3-0 on Michael Floodstrand's goal that bounced in off the backboards. Then at 11:10 of the period, Harvard's Ryan Donato would get his second of the night and make it 4-0. In the closing minutes of the game, Cornell's Jeff Malott would score to break up the shutout and make it 4-1 game. ECAC Hockey Championships Semi-Finals: #2 Union Dutchmen Vs #3 Cornell Big Red March 17th 2017
Cornell's Mitch Gillam (32) with the body save to secure the puck as part of a 33 save night. The #2 Union Dutchmen would meet up with the #3 Cornell Big Red in the second semi-final of the ECAC Hockey Championships. The game would remain scoreless until the 3:03 mark when Cornell's Noah Bauld would give the Big Red the 1-0 lead. Then just over four minutes later the Big Red would extend the lead to 2-0 on Jake Weidner's goal. The game would stay there til the 7:23 mark of the thirds period when Union's Cole Maier would score to make it 2-1 down the stretch. Then at 16:48 of the third, the Big Red would regain the 2-0 lead on Eric Freschi's goal. Then just over a minute, later the Big Red would put the game away on Beau Starrett's goal.
