The Plattsburgh Hornets would host crosstown rival Beekmantown Eagles in girls' basketball action. The game started well for the home Hornets, who jumped out to a 12-2 lead after the first quarter. The Hornets would keep their foot on the gas in the second quarter as they would have aa19-2 quarter behind some great defense and take the 31-4 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Eagles would find their offense and play with the Hornets, scoring 12 points, but the game was still 42-16 as they entered the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would again stay with the Hornets, 13-10, but the deficit would be too much, as the Hornets held on for the 52-29 victory. It would be the 3rd annual Amy McLane Memorial Scholarship game at the AC North Arena, and it would once again feature the Plattsburgh Hornets and the Saranac Spartans in front of a packed house. The Hornets would get the opening goal of the game at the 13:05 mark of the first period when Owen Dubay would light the lamp, and that's where the first period would end. The Spartans would answer at the 1:39 mark of the second period, when Brady McComber scored to tie the game at 1. The game would stay there till the 7:39 mark of the second period when Ben Bezio would give the Hornets the 2-1 lead. The Spartans would come back again and tie the game at 2 on the Deacon Giroux goal at the 13:26 mark. The game would not be rematched for Vong, as the Hornets regained the lead at 3-2 on Tames Bayer's goal, and that was where the period would end. Then at the 5:42 mark of the second period, the Hornets would take their first two-goal lead thanks to Ben Bezio at 4-2. The Spartans would answer back again at the 8:10 mark of the period when Gabe Moore would sink it by and make it a 4-3 game. The Hornets would answer back again and stretch their lead back to 2 at 5-3 when Sam Bezio scored. Then, in the closing time of the game, the Hornets would add the empty-netter for the 6-3 win. It would be the third game of the day in the 2026 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic, featuring the Boquet Valley Griffins and the Plattsburgh Hornets, as the Hornets would look to win both on the week. The game would get off to a great start for the Hornets, who ran out to a 25-3 lead before the break. In the second half, the Griffins would do their best to get back in the game, but their slow start would kill them, as the Hornets would get the 35-19 victory. In the winning effort, the Hotnets would go 2-0 but finish second to the Saranac Spartans on point difference. Malone's Brynn Leclair (3) comes flying down the lane to get a finger on the ball to block the shot of Grace LaMountain to keep the Huskies in the game. It would be the third game of the day from the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic, and girls would be back on the court this time as the Plattsburgh Hornets would challenge the Malone Huskies. The game would be slow out of the gate, as defense would be the name of the game, as the Hornets would hold the slim 4-3 lead after the first eight minutes. In the second quarter, there would be a bit more offense, but defense would still be tough as the Hornets would have an 8-6 quarter and take the 12-9 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, they were re-grouped, and the offenses would be on display as the Huskies took the quarter 17-13 and the slim 26-25 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, the game would come right down to the wire, and the Huskies couldn't get a rebound to have a chance down the stretch, as the Hornets would win the quarter 6-4 and secure the 31-30 victory. In the winning effort for the Hornets, Ava Weiss led the way with 11 points as the Hornets got back to 500 at 3-3 on the season. We would have non-league action this day at Plattsburgh High School, as they would start their holiday break, featuring the Plattsburgh Hornets and the visiting Malone Huskies. The game would start tight, as both teams looked for that spark to make a run, and we would be tied at 10 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, we would still be tight, as both teams were making shots on this night. The Hornets would have a 14-13 quarter and take the 24-23 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Huskies found another gear and stormed out to a 24-1 quarter, doubling their first-half total in one quarter, and took the 47-36 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, there would be no letup for the Huskies, as they led 18-10 and cruised to a 65-46 victory. In the winning effort, the Huskies would stay undefeated on the season, going to 5-0, while the Plattsburgh Hornefellall to 1-3 and will look to right the ship next week when they take on the Northeastern Clinton Cougars on December 29th.
