Store Tavern's Matt Orsmby (11) connects on the inside pitch and sends it out for a single. The Store Tavern would take on Northern Cake Redemption in the season finale of the Adirondack Slow Pitch League. The Tavern would jump out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning and not look back from there. They would another 4 spots in the second to make it 8-0. Then add two runs in the 4th and 5th inning to get secure the 12-1 win. With the win, the Store Tavern finishes the season at 9-12 and get the #6 seed in the upcoming playoffs where they play #3 Leroux Fuels in the Quarterfinals August 22. Gallery

Empire Football League Week 7: Plattsburgh North Stars Vs Vermont Ice Storm August 17 2013

Plattsburgh's Jason Remillard (10) goes up in traffic and comes down with the interception. The Plattsburgh North Stars would face their rivals from across the lake the Vermont Ice Storm in Empire Football League action. It would not take the North Stars long to get on the broad they would score on the opening drive to make it 7-0 on DJ Barber's TD Reception. The Stars would get another one near the end of the quarter on Dexter Geohagan touchdown to make it 13-0. Then in second quarter, the North Stars would score twice more Jamil McCray's and Chris Fish's touchdown receptions to make it 27-0 at the half. When the teams would return for the second it would be more of the same. The North Stars would get two more scores one on Harry Rascoe's sneak from the one-yard line and Craig Bujold's reception to make it 41-0. Then in the fourth quarter, the North Stars would add one more just for good measure as Harry Rascoe would scramble for 40 yards to make it 47-0. The Ice Storm would get one score late to break up the shutout. As the North Stars would cruise to a 47-7 win and go to 5-1 in Empire Football League as they head to Syracuse next week to take on the Syracuse Shock. Gallery

Ellenburg Center Fire Department Car Show August 11 2013

The old Chevy Camaro on display at the third annual car show. The Ellenburg Center Fire Department would hold there 3rd Annual Car Show to benefit the Department. There would be a great turn out of cars with 55 showing up. There would also be a great turn for the community to come and see the cars and support the station. The Ellenburg Center Fire Department would like to thank everyone that participated and plans are already underway for the 2014 edition. Gallery

Adirondack Truck Tractor Pullers: Huntingdon Truck/Tractor Pull (ATPA) August 10 2013

John Darragh in his GMC Sierra snaps the back driveshaft just over 100 feet into the run. The Huntingdon Fair would have the Adirondack Truck/Tractor Pullers back for the first time in four years. They would put on a great show for the local pullers from Street Trucks, Stock Tractors, Altered Stock Tractors, and 4x4 Tractors. The Adirondack sled would start pulling in the earlier afternoon and pull till late at night. The would pull just over 110 hooks on the day to a roaring crowd. The Adirondack Truck/Tractor Pullers are looking forward to making a return trip next year. Gallery

Mario Racicot and his 2009 Frightlighter make the sled look like children play as he looks to take out the trailers at the other of the track. The ASTTQ the premier truck and tractor pulling series in Canada would make there annual stop at the Huntingdon Fair. There would be a packed crowd to watch the best pullers across Canada in action. They would bring in the Super Semis, Mini Mods, Modified Trucks, Two Wheel Drive Trucks, and the Modified Tractors. They would bring in around 50 pullers to show their talents and there would be some that would break expensive parts on the very tacky track. The ASTTQ will be sure to come back next year. Gallery

New York Sire Stakes Franklin County Fair Malone, NY August 9 2013

John MacDonald (Russell, ON) and Mar Dream win the Red & Maragaret Memorial with the new track record 1:59.3 beating the old track record by a tenth of a second. It would be the last of three days of racing at the Franklin County Fair. There would be 8 races on the card with three of them being memorial races. There would be another good crowd in attendance. Andy Gardner would be named the driver of the week for his stellar performance over the three days. Gallery

Heath Allen (Brudhton) aboard the 3 Determination gets the wire to wire win in the fifth race over Scott Renz and Taste of Magic in the 2-year-old Trotters race. The New York County Fair Racing Series would return to the Franklin County Fair for the there second day of three days of racing. It would be another full card of racing with 11 races on the day. Many of the races would come right down to the wire. There would be a good crowd on hand to watch the racing. Gallery

Crash Monreau with a head first crash through the fire wall. Tonny Petersen and his Hell-drivers returned to the Franklin County Fair in Malone after a near 5 year hiatus. They would take there Dodge cars/Trucks and show off their skills behind the wheel at high speeds and close corners. There would be a crash aspect as they would take out the junk cars and roll them over launch them in the air and hit other cars. There would be a near-full crowd that would be on the edge of there seats throughout the show and looking for them to come back next year. Gallery

George Lester and his Farmall on a slow ride in the 7,500lb Antique Tractor class and finishes second. The Franklin County Fair would try something new this year and have their street truck and antique tractor pull on a separate night and they would get around 100 entries in fifteen classes. There would be a good crowd in attendance for a first-time event and does show promise for next year. Gallery

Franklin County Fair Demolition Derby Malone, NY August 5th 2013

During heat four of the 31 and 27 would meet on the track with back ends and the shot would take both cars off the ground. It would be time for the annual demolition derby at the Franklin County Fair in Malone. There would be 100 cars divided up into 8 heats from 4 cylinders up to the mighty 8 cylinders along with the girls' heat and the popular truck heat. The eventual winner would be Joey Foster from Potsdam. There would be plenty of crowd-pleasing moments to keep the crowd there from start to finish. Gallery
