Malone's Cameron Daniels (44) lines up the Ogdensburg skater and gets him the crushing shoulder check. The Malone Huskies would host the Ogdensburg Blue Devils in Section X Division II action. The game would match two teams that were very evenly matched. It would take till the seven-minute marl of the 2nd period for the first goal when Drew Costigan would light the lamp with the assist going to Nolan Ruffa. Then with just over a minute left in the 2nd period, Ogdensburg would strike again this time on the power-play goal by Brandon Mullin with Jake Garrison picking up the assist to make to 2-0 Blue Devils after two. The Huskies would answer right back just 45 seconds into the third period Trevor Cooley would put away the loose puck for the power-play goal to make it a game at 2-1 Blue Devils. Then just over two minutes later the Blue Devils would take their two-goal lead back on Brandon Mullins's second goal of the game with the assist going to Gian Ruffa and Mark Morrow. The Blue Devils would end the scoring at 12:59 of the third period Burke Comeau scores on the power play with the assist going to Jake Garrison and Brandon Mullins. The Blue Devils would get the 4-1 victory to stay atop the Division II standings. In the losing effort, Joey Brown would stop 37 of 41 shots as the Huskies fall to 7-6-1 on the season.Gallery

Northeastern Clinton's Kastle Birch (77) with the crushing hit on the Bativa Norte Dame defender in the offensive zone. The Northeastern Clinton Cougars would play the Bativa Norte Dame Fighting in the North Country Cup from the Stafford Ice Arena in Plattsburgh. The lack of numbers due to injury and the game the night before would help matters. The Cougars would fall to the Fighting Irish by a score of 7-2. Getting the two goals for the cougars would be Ryan Marks and Alex Duffy will Reece Tucker would have two assists. With the lose the Cougars fall to 6-4 on the season. Gallery

NYSPHSAA Boy's Hockey North Country Cup Saranac Chiefs Vs #8 Churchville-Chilli January 19 2013

Saranac's Kyle Erickson (10) wins in the zone face off to gain the advantage for the Chiefs. The Saranac Chiefs would host the Churchville-Chilli in the North Country Cup at the Stafford Ice Arena in Plattsburgh. Churchville would get three goals in the first period and not look back from there. Churchville would take a 4-0 lead 8 minutes into the second period. Dylan Baker would get the Chiefs on the broad with a goal with under a minute left in the period. Although before time would expire Churchville would score again to make it 5-1 after the second period. In the third period, Churchville would score in the opening minute to make it 6-1. Then in the final 30 seconds of the game, the Chiefs would get two goals from Jacob Lilledahl and Matt McCasland to make it a 6-3 Churchville win. In the lose Zach LaReau would stop 37 of 43 shots as the Chiefs fall to 2-11. The Chiefs will look to regroup when they get back into sectional play next week. Gallery

Malone's Shawm Mulverhill (23) with the open wrister on net from close range. It would be a battle of top of 15 teams in the state as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Malone Huskies in non-league action. The Hornets would get the opening goal 8:40 into the first on Jack Tolosky's goal to make it 1-0. The Hornets would make it 2-0 on a power-play goal from John Anthony Fine Lease. The Huskies would get on the broad in the last two minutes of period Trevor Cooley's goal to make it 2-1 Hornets after the first. The Huskies tie up right off in the second period at two. The Huskies would take the 3-2 lead on Trevor Henderson's goal at 4:32 of the second period. The Huskies would make it 4-2 Jake Hennings's goal at 6:42. Then in the eight-minute, the Huskies would strike twice on goals from Cole Depuy and Tanner Studlack to make it 5-3 Huskies after the 2nd period. In the third period, the Hornets would get back within J.D. Side's goal at 5:21. Then tie it up with four minutes remaining om Devin Clarke's goal to send the game to overtime. In the overtime, the Huskies would make it enjoyable bus ride back as Tanner Studlack would score at 2:53 of the extra frame for the 6-5 win. In the winning effort, Joey Brown would stop 35 of 40 shots as the Huskies go to 7-5-1 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's John Perez (14) with the reserve layup under the basket in the middle of traffic. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Oneonta State Red Dragons in SUNYAC Basketball. The Cardinals would have a huge lead that they would see a slow start to go away although they would hold on for the victory. The Cardinals would have a 40-33 lead at the break. The Dragons would stay close throughout the second half as both teams would have 42 points each. As the Cardinals would hang on for the 85-79 victory. In the winning effort, Shamony McIntosh would have 18 points as the Cardinals go to 10-5 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's goal would be scored by Allison Era to give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead in the first minute. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host ECAC-West conference foe Elmira Soaring Eagles The game would be very physical at times as both teams were looking for the upper hand in the conference standings. The Cardinals would get the early lead on Allison Era's goal in the first minute of the game. The Cardinals would take the 2-0 lead on Andrea Zeismann's power-play goal at the ten-minute mark of the first. Then in the last 1:30 of the period, Elmira would get on the broad with Sam Curk's goal to make it 2-1 Cardinals after the first period. That is where the game would remain until Alyssa Parke would score at the 11:15 mark of the second period to make it 3-1 after the second period. Then in the third period, the Cardinals would get one more goal this time from Shannon Stewart with 3:10 left in the game. In the winning effort, Sydney Aveson would stop 21 of 22 shots as the Cardinals stay undefeated on the season. Gallery

Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Brushton-Moria Panthers January 18 2013

Chateaugay's Noah Bowes (32) goes up and lays it of the window for basket as part of his 24 point night. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Brushton-Moria Panthers in section ten basketball action between to longtime rivals. The game would get very phyiscail with many fouls called through out the game even a couple injury timeouts were needed but what else would you expect with rivals. When the first quarter would come to end the Bulldogs would hold a slim 12-11 lead. In the second quarter it would be more of the same and the Bulldogs would have a 26-20 lead at the break. The Panthers would come out fired up and trim the Bulldogs lead to 39-38 headed to the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Panthers would actual take a four point lead with four minutes to play but the Bulldogs would have a fifteen point swing and cruise to the 60-49 win A key factor in the Bulldogs win would be that made 23 free throws. Leading the way in victory for the Bulldogs would be Noah Bowes with 24 points as the Bulldogs go to 8-3 on the season. Gallery

Malone's Joe Jaurrez flips over the of Ogdensburg's Nate Shakir and takes the OFA wrestler along for the ride. The Malone Huskies would host the Ogdensburg Blue Devils in Section X Wrestling action. There would only be 6 matches in the 15 different weight classes and the rest would be decided by forfeits. In the actual matches, Ogdensburg would win five out of 6 them. With being said Ogdensburg would win the match 62-12. With the lose the Malone Huskies fall to 1-6 on the season. Gallery

Northern Adirondack Conference Girl's Basketball #10 Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Potsdam Sandstoners January 14 2013

Chateaugay's Hannah Cook (11) shields herself from the defender and frees and find the open girl at the top of the key. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Potsdam Sandstoners in non league action. The game would see the Bulldogs pretty much control the game until the whole game until the fourth quarter when the Sandstoners would step up there full court defense. The Bulldogs would have the slim 9-6 lead after the first quarter. The Bulldogs would keep up the tempo as they would have a 23-17 lead at the break as they would win the quarter 14-11. Then when the teams came back for the third quarter the Bulldogs would win the quarter 13-7 and take a 36-24 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth the Sandstoners would step up there full court defense and force bulldogs into many turnovers and the Sandstoners would win the 17-11 but the Bulldogs would hold on to the 47-41 victory. In the winning effort Courtney Boyea and Mikalya Fleury would lead the way ten points each for the Bulldogs as the go to 6-1 on the season. Gallery

NCAA Division III Men's Hockey #10 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #13 Williams Ephs Janaury 12th 2013

The Plattsburgh State team celebrates behind the net as they would get the game-winner in overtime. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Williams Ephs in a non-conference contest. Williams would take the 1-0 lead on Nick Anderson's goal at 11:29 of the first period. That is where the game would remain until the 7:30 mark of the second period when Preston Kaye would get the tying goal on the power play to make it 1-1. Then Ephs would get two goals in just under a minute between the 8:30 and 9:30 mark from Nick Anderson and Peter Mistretta to make it 3-1 Ephs. Then with under three minutes left in the second, the Ephs would get a power-play goal from Matt Doyle to make it 4-1 Ephs after two periods. Then just a 1:18 into the third period the Cardinals would start there comeback on Kevin Emmerling's goal to make it 4-2. Then with five minutes left in third Barry Roytman would score to make it 4-3 with the extra attacker. Then just a 1:19 later the comeback would be complete as Kevin Emmerling would light the lamp and send the game into overtime. In that overtime, Luke Baleshta would send the home crowd home happy with the winner when he knocked in the rebound with twenty seconds left. In the winning effort Sam Foley would stop all seven shots he faced in relief as the Cardinals go to 11-5-1 on the season. Gallery
