Plattsburgh's catcher with the tag at the plate on the Nighthawk runner to cut down the runner. It would be the season opener for the Plattsburgh Hornets and the Peru Nighthawks in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference action at the redone Plattsburgh Hornets field. The game would start off fast and furious for the home Hornets as they would get six runs in the first for the early 6-0 lead. The Hornets would continue the offense in the second inning as they would get three more to extend their lead to 9-0. The early game success would continue in the third with another two runs and they were off to the races with an 11-0 lead. The game would stay there all the way to the 6th inning when the Nighthawks would finally get on the board with a pair of runs for the 11-2 game. Although the Hornets would get four runs in the sixth to make it a 15-2. Then the last inning the Nighthawks would get a pair as they made a last-ditch effort at the game as the Hornets get the 15-4 win and go to 1-0 on the season while the Nighthawks fall to 0-1 Gallery

Northeastern Clinton's Brayden Monette (22) would break in and lay the ball off the window for two points on the night. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference tilt as the host Peru Nighthawks would take on the Northeastern Clinton Cougars on a senior night for Peru. Although the seniors were honored before the game it would not be meant to be on this night as the Cougars would have a 25-19 lead at the half despite the best efforts by Nighthawks. When the teams would return for the second half the Nighthawks would try their best to stay in the game but the Cougars would have a 28-13 quarter and cruise to the 53-32 win. In the winning effort for the Cougars, Gillbo and Manor would lead the way 12 points as they go to 7-11 on the season. As for the Nighthawks, Samuel Godfrey would have a game of 17 points but it wouldn't be enough as they fall to 2-15 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh's Peter Wylie (23) with the defense on Peru's Samuel Godfrey (23) swipes the ball for the steal. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference matchup between crosstown rivals the Plattsburgh Hornets and the Peru Nighthawks. Before the game started the Hornets would honor their seven seniors on the team. The home Hornets would come out hot and breakout to a big lead with a 23-9 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Hornets would stay hot with a 15-7 quarter and take a 42-16 lead into the intermission. The third quarter would be the evenest quarter of the night as the Hornets would win the quarter at 15-12 and take a 57-28 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the teams would still play tight but the early deficit was too much as the Hornets win the quarter 15-10 and secure the 72-38 victory. Peru's Isabella Sypek (5) with the contested jumper in close over Ticonderoga's Destiney Snider (22) for two points. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference matchup between the host Peru Nighthawks and the visiting Ticonderoga Sentinels. The game would start off good for the home Nighthawks as they would be doubling up the Sentinels after the first quarter at 15-6. In the second quarter, the Nighthawks would continue to pull away with a 13-3 quarter and take a 28-9 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Nighthawks would keep their foot on the gas with a 15-6 quarter to extend their lead to 43-15 as they head into the fourth. In that fourth quarter, the Nighthawks would lighten up with the outcome, not in question with a 13-10 quarter and secure the 56-25 win. Leading the way on the night would be Kortney McCarthy would be 19 points as they go to 6-3 on the season while Ticonderoga falls to 5-3 on the season. Gallery.

Northern Adirondack's Rhylee Poupore (11) with the three over Peru's defender outstretched arm for the score. It would be a matchup between the Champlain and Mountain Valley as the Peru Nighthawks would host the Northern Adirondack Bobcats. The game would not be going that well for the home Nighthawks as they would be down 23-9 at the break. In the second half, they wouldn't give although the Bobcats would be too much for them on this day as they win the half 27-15 and secure the 50-24 victory and Alexis Belrose would lead the way with 14 points on the night. Saranac's Layla Pellerin (20) with the jumper from the wing over Peru's Kortney McCarthy (3). It would be the final game of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and would feature the Saranac Chiefs and the Peru Nighthawks. The game would start off great for the Chiefs as their offense would explode out of the gate and build up a lead of 24-2 by the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would go cold and the defense would step up for the Nighthawks as it would be a low-scoring 7-4 quarter and the Chiefs would have a 31-6 lead at the intermission. In the third quarter, the Nighthawks would be able to stay with them and actually have a 9-8 quarter and make it a 39-15 game headed to the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Nighthawks would win the quarter but their slow start of the gate would be their undoing as they win the quarter 13-11 but the Chiefs would hold on for the 50-28 win. In the winning effort, the Chiefs go to 7-2 while the Nighthawks fall to 5-4 on the season. Gallery
