Ausable Valley's Kobe Parrow (14) with the leaping catch along the sidelines for the first down on the big gain. It would be week four of the C.V.A.C. season and the Ausable Valley Patriots would travel to the Peru Indians. The Patriots would take the 7-0 lead with 4:25 left in the first quarter on Brandon Snow's catch in the corner of the end zone. The Patriots would extend the lead to 13-0 on Brandon Snow's second touchdown of the day with 2:05 left in the half. That would be all the Patriots would need as the teams would go scoreless in the second half as the Patriots would hold on for the 13-0 victory. Saranac Chiefs @ Moriah Vikings September 23rd 2016

Moriah's Ethan Java (13) breaks out of the pack for the 15-yard touchdown. It would be week four of the Champlain Valley Football League and the Saranac Chiefs would travel to Moriah for the game against the Vikings. The game would go back and forth throughout. The Vikings would take the 6-0 lead near the end of the first quarter on a touchdown run from Ethan Java to make it 6-0 Vikings. Then early in the second quarter, the Chiefs would tie the game up a touchdown pass to Andy LeBeau. That is where the game would stay til there was 1:30 left in the third when Ethan Java would score again and they would get the two-point conversion to make it 14-6 Vikings. Then with under three minutes left in the game, the Vikings would extend the lead to 21-6 on Ethan Java's third touchdown of the day. In the closing minute of the game, the Chiefs would score to make the final look better as Luke Maye would score on the QB sneak to make the final score 21-12. In the winning effort, the Vikings would go to 2-2 while the Chiefs would go to 0-4 on the season. Gallery.

Saranac Chiefs Vs Saranac Lake Red Storm September 10th 2016

Saranac's Logan Matthews (10) with the pass break up on the attempt to Saranac Lake's Joe Viscardo (6) It would be week two of the Champlain Valley Athletic League with the Saranac Chiefs would be hosting the Saranac Lake Red Storm. The Red Storm would jump out to the quick 7-0 lead Brandon Meyers touchdown run. The Red Storm would extend their advantage to 13-0 on Joe Viscardo's touchdown reception. The Chiefs would cut the lead the deficit in half on the long touchdown reception for Isaac Garman and that's where the game would be at the half. The Red Storm would regain the 13 point lead on Joe Viscardo second touchdown on the day at 8:07 of the third quarter. Then with just under four minutes left in the game, they would extend it to 23-6 on a short field goal. As the clock would expire on the game the Chiefs would get a score on the quarterback keeper by Luke Maye to close out the 23-12 victory for the Red Storm. In the winning effort, the Red Storm would go to 1-1 while the Chiefs would fall to 0-2 on the season. Gallery.

Ticonderoga's Trevor Parent (18) runs the ball up the middle breaking tackles for the first down. It would be the second week of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season and it would feature the Ausable Valley Patriots and the Ticonderoga Sentenials. It would be a match up to very evenly matched teams in a contest that would come down to what team could push it across first. The lone score of the game would come with 7:26 left in the fourth quarter when Justyn Granger would break through the line four the nine-yard score. In the winning effort, the Ticonderoga Sentinels would improve to 2-0 while the Ausable Valley Patriots would fall to 0-2 on the season. Gallery.

Saranac Chiefs @ Plattsburgh Hornets September 2nd 2016

Plattsburgh's Jason Moore (4) with the catch in stride for the big gain along the sidelines. It would be the opening night of the Champlain Valley football season as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Chiefs. The Hornets would get the first score of the game on a 2 yard run by Brady Pennington to make it 6-0 at the 7:30 mark . The Hornets would extend there lead to 12-0 a 31-yard interception return Harney just 38 seconds later. The Hornets would extend there lead to 18-0 on a 33-yard touchdown reception by Ben Champagne and take that 18-0 lead into the intermission. The game would stay there till 36 seconds of the fourth quarter when Mitch Senecal would score on the QB sneak to make it 25-0 Hornets. Then in the closing minutes of the game, Jason Moore would score on a 52-yard bomb to secure the 33-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets would break a 29 game losing streak and start the season at 1-0 as the Saranac Chiefs fall to 0-1 to start the season. Gallery.

Alex Turner Memorial Tournament Clinton County (JR) Mariners Vs Champlain Cougars June 24th 2016

Clinton County's Izaih Browne (68) with the fastball for the strikeout as part of a multi strikeout game. It would be the opening game of the Alex Turner Memorial Tournament for both the Clinton County (JR) Mariners and the Champlain Cougars. The game would remain scoreless until the 4th inning when the Mariners would score on error throw first to make it 1-0. The game would stay there til the 6th inning when the Mariners would explode for 4 runs to expand there lead to 5-0. The Cougars wouldn't go quietly though as they would load the bases in the seventh inning and get a run to bust up the shutout. Although the Mariners would hold on for the 5-1 victory and go to 1-0 in the tournament and 14-2 overall. Gallery.

The Cannons would get a run in the top of the first. Although from then on the Mariners would be in complete control. The Mariners would get two runs in the bottom of the inning to make it 2-1. The Mariners would add another two runs in the second to extend the lead to 4-1. In the fourth inning is when they would take complete control as they would score 4 runs to make it an 8-1 game. In the sixth inning, they would tack on another run to secure the 9-1 victory. Gallery.

Plattsburgh State's Matt Fox (6) slaps the tag on the Oneonta State base stealer but the runner is called safe. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Oneonta State Red Dragons in SUNYAC conference play. The Red Dragons would take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. The Cardinals would come back in the bottom of the inning with a pair of runs helped by an RBI double by Billy Romatabus to make 2-1. The Cardinals would extend the lead to 3-1 on an RBI single by Frank Finkbeiner. The Red Dragons would add a run in the third to make it 3-2. Then in the sixth the Red Dragons would add three runs and take a 5-3 lead. That would end the scoring on the day and the Cardinals would fall 5-3 and drop to 4-26 on the season. In the losing effort, Frank Finkbeiner would lead the way going 1-3 with an RBI. Gallery.

Plattsburgh State's Jon Craft (3) fields the hop on the ground ball and fires onto first for the out. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Middlebury Panthers in non-league action. The game would remain scoreless until the third period when the Panthers would break through with three runs and take the 3-0 lead. The Cardinals would get on the board in the fourth inning with a sacrifice bunt to make it 3-1. The Panthers would answer back in the fifth inning with three more runs to make it 6-1 Panthers. At the bottom of the fifth, the Cardinals would keep it close getting two runs to make it 6-4. In the sixth, the Panthers would score one to make it 7-4. At the bottom of the sixth, the Cardinals would score five to make it 9-7 Cardinals. The game would stay there till the ninth when the Panthers would get two runs. In the bottom of the ninth, the Cardinals would get the game-winning run on error pick off attempt at first and the runner would score from second to secure the 10-9 victory. The Saints would take the early 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI single. The Cardinals would come back in the fourth with two runs on a pair of RBI singles to make it 2-1 cardinals. Although from on the Saints would be in control as they would get ten unanswered runs and get the 12-2 victory.
