The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #6 Amherst Lady Jeffs in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. The game would remain scoreless until 6:12 of the second period when Kayla Menehgain would score to give the Cardinals 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would expand there lead to 2-0 at 8:19 on Melisa Ames goal. The Cardinals would finish off the second period with a Melissa Sheeran goal to make it 3-0 after the second period. When the third period started the Cardinals would keep control as they would expand the lead to 4-0 on Mackenize Millen's goal. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #3 Utica Pioneers in the 2016 ECAC West Championship. The Cardinals would show their muscle early in the contest scoring four goals in the first period from Karen Hudson, Kayla Meneghain, Jordan Lipson and Courtney Moriarty for the 4-0 lead. In the second period, the Cardinals would add two more goals from Melissa Sheeran, and Melissa Ames for 6-0 lead. In the third period, the Cardinals would put the icing on the cake with two more goals Courtney Moriarty (second of the night), and Jordan Lipson (second of the night) to secure the 8-0 victory. The Cardinals would take a 37-34 lead into the halftime break. When the teams came back the Cardinals would maintain there lead until the seven-minute mark when the Falcons would take the lead and not relinquish lea. Chateaugay's Tyler Jones (15) underneath lays it off the window in traffic for the 2 hardpoints as part of a seven-point night. It would be the opening round of the Class D New York State Basketball Tournament as the #6 Chateaugay Bulldogs to Plattsburgh and take on the #1 Moriah Vikings. The Vikings would prove from start to finish of the game why they are the #1 team in the state as they would have a 17-3 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Bulldogs would do better to keep it close as it would be a 16-13 quarter and the Vikings would have 33-16 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would be another tight quarter at 22-20 Moriah and they would maintain the lead at 55-36. In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs would run out of gas and it would be a repeat of the first quarter at 17-3 and the Moriah Vikings would secure the 72-39 victory. In the second quarter, the Cardinals would extend there lead to 11-3 with goals coming from Mike Gray, Jimmy Warden, Brendan Dam (2), Ryan Callahan (2) and Ryan McCarthy. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Cardinals would win the quarter 5-0 and have a 16-3 with goals from Michael Labianca, Patrick Nash (3), and Jake Carroll. In the fourth quarter, the Cadets would get two-goal to make it look better.
