The host Plattsburgh State Cardinals would take on the Mount Holyoke Lyons from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference in front of just over 400 fans. The game would start well for the home Cardinals, who cruised to a 21-8 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Lyons would do their best to keep the game in reach, but the Cardinals took the quarter 25-14 and led 46-22 at halftime. When the teams returned for the third quarter, defense would be the name of the game, with the Cardinals taking a 13-10 lead, 59-32, into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Cardinals would put the final touches on the Lyons with a 23-10 quarter for the 82-42 victory.
