The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would return home to start the 2025 home portion of their season with a game inside the SUNYAC and also a matchup between top ten teams as the #7 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #6 Oswego State Lakers in the first of a pair of games on the weekend at the field house. The game would be evenly matched for the first 30 minutes as neither team could light the lamp, but not for not having chances on the net. The Cardinals would finally break through on the powerplay at 10:35 when Mattie Norton sliced it through the defenders for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 2:21 mark of the third period when the Cardinals would find the back of the net, this time from Tessa Morris, for the 2-0 lead. From there, the Cardinals would shut down the Lakers and get the 2-0 win. In the winning effort on the afternoon, Chloe Lewis recorded the shutout as she has 28 saves, and the Cardinals go to 9-2-1 on the season, and they will take on the Lakers again tomorrow.
