The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would have their first of two matches on the day as they would on the winless SUNY Poly from the Empire 8. The first game of the match would be a see-saw affair but the home Cardinals would come out on top in the end with a 25-21 win. In the second game, the Cardinals would have an easier go of it and would take the two sets to zero lead with a 25-11 victory. Then in the third set, the Cardinals would be able to handle their business and take the third game 25-14 win and get the straight-set victory.
