Champlain Valley Athletic Conference - Week 1 - Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Saranac Lake Red Storm - August 31st 2018

Saranac Lake's Braden Ryan (1) fends off tacklers as he takes it around the edge for the extra yardage. It would be the opening night of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season and we would see the Platsburgh Hornets host the Saranac Lake Red Storm. The Hornets would tske the 6-0 lead on the 32 yard run by Lestyn Williams. Lestyn Williams would strike again on a 15 yard run at 8:02 of the first quarter to extend there lead to 13-0. In the first few seconds of the second quarter the Horners would strike again with a 22 yard pass to Zack Bieber to make it 20-0 and thats where the game would be at halftime. When the teams came back for the second half the Horners wouldn't take long to extend the lead as Liam Rascoe would run back the opening kick 88 yards for the 26-0 lead. In the fourth quarter in the last two minutes of the game the Hornets would strike on more time with a 65 yard run by Andrew Swiesz to secure the 32-0 victory. In the winning effort the Plattsburgh Hornets would go to 1-0 while the Saranac Lake Red Storm would fall to 0-1 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh's Jayvon Carpenter (23) with the juke at the line to hit the hole and get the gain for the first down. It would be the opening night of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season and we would see the Platsburgh Hornets host the Saranac Lake Red Storm. The Hornets would tske the 6-0 lead on the 32 yard run by Lestyn Williams. Lestyn Williams would strike again on a 15 yard run at 8:02 of the first quarter to extend there lead to 13-0. This would be a very tight game from start to finish and low scoring they would be tied at nine after the first quarter. In the second quarters the Indians would pull ahead with a 9-3 quarter for the 18-12 lead at intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Hornets would fight to get back in the game winning the quarter 10-8 Indians would still lead 26-22 into the fourth quarter. In the fourth the Hornets would not give in and even take the lead with under a minute left just for the Indians to take the lead back and the Indians would get the 32-38 victory. With the win the Peru Indians advance to the New York State Tournament. Gallery

The Peru Indians pose for there team photo as they crowned the 2017 Section VII Class B Champions. It would be the #1 Plattsburgh Hornets meeting up with the #3 Peru Indians in the Section VII Class B Championship. This would be a defensive battle between two evenly matched teams. As the Peru Indians would score first with a minute left in the first quarter on Kasen Brennan 6 yard touchdown. The game would stay there til 4:28 left in the second quarter when Jordan Moore would score on a 13 yard pass although the hornets would miss the extra point and the Indians would have a 7-6 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the second half the defenses would stay stout as there would be no scoring. The Peru Indians would get the 7-6 victory and be crowned the 2017 Section VII champions and advance to the New York State Class B Tournament and play the Gouvenour Wildcats. Gallery.

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Week 6 Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Ticonderoga Sentinels October 6th 2017

Ticonderoga's Trevor Parent (18) shads off the tackler in the backfield and ends up getting positive yards on the pay. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Ticonderoga Sentinels in week 6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season. The Sentinels would jump out to a quick 7-0 lead on a 52 yard run by Trevor Parent two minutes into the game. The Sentinels would answer at 5:33 of the opening quarter this time on a 50-yard run to extend the lead to 13-0. There would be no scoring in the second quarter so the Sentinels would take a 13-0 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the second half so would the Sentinels to form as Evan Garney would score on a quarterback sneak at 6:19 to make it 21-0. Then with under two minutes left in the third Trevor Parent would score again to make it 28-0. In the fourth quarter, the Sentinels would add one more on Hayden Scuderi would score to make it 35-0. In the winning effort, the Sentinels keep there undefeated season intact as they go to 6-0 while the Hornets fall to 3-3 on the season. Gallery

Ticonderoga's Russ Gallo III steamrolls over the Plattsburgh defender as he takes it for a first down. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Ticonderoga Sentinels in week 6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season. Plattsburgh's Meghan Sullivan (17) races the ball ahead of the defender and saves ball before it goes over the sidelines. It would be a crosstown match up in the C.V.A.C. as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Peru Indians. The Hornets would get the opening goal of the game from Madeleine Woodward at the 28th minute as the Hornets would take the 1-0 lead. Then just over a minute later the Hornets would extend there lead to 2-0 as Elisa Rodriquez would find the back of the net. The game would stay there till the second half when the Hornets would extend there lead to 3-0 on the Brina Michaels goal at the 51st minute. Then the Hornets would put the icing on the cake in 68th minute on the Kathleen Sullivan goal to secure the 4-0 victory.
