The game would start good for the Cardinals Barry Rotyman would light the lamp to make it 1-0 Cardinals just four minutes in on the power play. The Cardinals would add another special teams goal this time shorthanded as Michael Radisa would make it 2-0 Cardinals with 26 seconds left in the first. When the teams came out for 2nd period the Cardinals didn't let up as Kevin Emmerling would score two minutes in to make it 3-0. Then at the nine-minute mark the Knights would get on the broad with Stephen Collins goal to make it 3-1. Then with 4:30 left in the second period Barry Rotyman would get his second of the net to secure the 4-1 victory. The game would remain scoreless until the 41 seconds into the second period when Nick Jensen would score on the power play to make it 1-0 Cardinals. The Cardinals would extend there lead to 2-0 just three minutes later when Patrick Hermans would score his collegiate goal. Then 4:23 into the third period Dillon Fox would add one more to give the Cardinals the 3-0 victory. In the winning Mathieu Cadieux would have 14 saves for the shutout victory.
