The Cardinals would take the 1-0 lead on Pat Egan's goal at 9:54 of the first period. Then just over three minutes later Pat Egan would strike again to make it 2-0. Then to end the six-minute stretch in the first the Cardinals Cole Stallard would score to make it 3-0 Cardinals after the first period. In the second period, the Cardinals would continue there dominance scoring twice more from Cam Owens and Brandon O'Quinn to make it 5-0 after two periods. In the third period, the Cardinals would put the final touches on the game scoring twice more this time Luke Balesheta and Kyle Hall for the 7-0 victory. In the winning effort, Brady Rouleau would stop all 18 shots in the shutout victory as the Cardinals go to 9-1-1 on the season. With the win, the Cardinals play for the W.B. Plattsburgh State's Pat Egan (16) rifles the shot to the top shelf over goalies shoulder for one of his two goals on the night. It would be the semi-finals on the W.B. Mason Winter Classic and it would feature the #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals hosting the Fitchburg State Falcons. The Cardinals would take the 1-0 lead on Pat Egan's goal at 9:54 of the first period. Then just over three minutes later Pat Egan would strike again to make it 2-0. It would be a battle of North Country rivals with extra on the line as they both came in undefeated and ranked in the top 15. As #4 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host #12 Potsdam State Bears. The Cardinals get the quick 1-0 leas as Nick Belger would score on the power play at 4:04 of the first. The Cardinals would extend it to 2-0 on Cole Stallard's power-play goal at 6:05. The in the last minute of the period the Cardinals would strike twice in seven seconds with goals from Dillan Fox and Kevin Emmerling to take a 4-0 lead after one. When the teams came out for the second period the Cardinals would score again at the 4:17 mark to make it 5-0 on Cole Stallard's second goal of the night. Then just over a minute, later the Bears would finally get on the board to make it 5-1 and that's where the game would stay until the third period. In the third period, the Cardinals would get two more goals to put the icing on the cake from Cole Stallard's (hat trick goal) and Ayrton Valente to secure the 7-1 victory. It would be the semi-finals of the SUNYAC Hockey Tournament and it would feature the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the #6 Brockport State Golden Eagles for the right to go to the finals. It would be a game that would turn into a goal-fest. As the Cardinals would have a 4-1 lead after the first period on goals from Connor Toomey (twice) along with Dillan Fox and Mark Constatine getting the goal for the Eagles would be Bobby Chayka. The second period would belong to the Eagles as they would get three goals from Bobby Chayka (twice) and Troy Polino to tie the game at four. In the final period, the Cardinals would outscore the Eagles 3-1 with goals from Mark Constatine, Connor Gorman, and Michael Cassidy, and getting the lone goal for the Eagles would be Chris Luker as the Cardinals get the 7-5 victory. Then at the 15:34 mark of James Ryan would score on the power play for the Eagles to make it 2-1. Then at the 17:11 mark of the period, the Cardinals would go back up by 2 as Connor Gorman would finish off the natural hat trick and make it 3-1. Although the lead would be short-lived as the Cardinals would tie it up 42 seconds later on Connor Gorman's goal. The game would stay there till 4:14 of the second period when Anthony Calabrese would score to make it 2-1 Cardinals. Although the Bears would not give up and battle back to tie it up at 2 on Jake Rivera's goal. Then with just under two minutes remaining Pattsburgh's Connor Gorman would score for the second time to make it 3-2 Cardinals. Then in the third period Cardinals, Alex Brenton would score at 3:08 to make it 4-2 Cardinals. Then in the 13-minute mark of the period Alex Brenton would score again to make it 5-2. Then in the final minute of the game, Connor Toomey would come on the breakaway and score on the backhand to secure the 6-2 victory.
