Moriah Vikings @ AuSable Valley Patriots - October 11th 2019
Moriah's Braden Swan (32) with the catch in the back of the endzone for one of his four touchdowns on the night. It would be week 6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and would feature the Moriah Vikings traveling up to the the Au Sable Patriots. The game would start of good for the Patriots as they would hit Luis Perez with a 65 yard pass on the first play of the game for a quick 8-0 lead. Although the Vikings would strike right back two plays later with a Maddox Blaise 63 yard run to tie the game at 8. Then the Vikings would strike again at 4:17 mark of the first quarter on a 3 yard run and take a 16-8. The Vikings would strike one more time in the first quarter with 4 minutes left on Mason Spring sneak to take a 24-8 lead. As time would expire in the first quarter the Patriots would cut the lead in half at 24-15 on the Evan Snow QB sneak. The scoring would slow down from there as the Vikings would score 3 minutes into the quarter on the Luke Spring 15 yard pass to make it 30-15. The Vikings would score as time would expire in the half on a very controversial touchdown Braden Swan to make it 38-15 at the half. When the teams came back the second half the scoring would slow down. As the Vikings would get the only score of the half at 3:24 of the third quarter on the Maddox Blaise run and secure the 44-15 win. In the winning effort the Moriah Vikings go to 4-2 while the Ausable Valley Patriots fall to 3-3 season as the teams go into the last week of the season. Gallery.
Saranac Chiefs @ Peru Indians - October 11th 2019
Peru's Austin Carpenter (3) with the catch over the middle with Saranac's Connor Recore (80) defending. A sluggish first quarter wasn't enough to deter the Peru Indians, as they rode a solid running game to a second-half comeback, snapping their losing streak with a 21-11 win over Saranac. The Indians found themselves in a hole early, as Saranac's Connor Burns found Hunter Devins for a 73-yard touchdown pass. Two botched fourth-down snaps by Peru resulted in a pair of safeties, and the Chiefs led 11-0 after one quarter of play. That would be the end of the scoring for the visiting team, though, and Peru found its elusive running game on the back of Jack Hanson, who rattled off 181 rushing yards in the game. Twice in the second quarter, the Indians drove to within five yards, only to two turn the ball over each time. Momentum remained with Peru in the second half. An interception by Gavin Padron set the Indians up for a five-yard touchdown run by Hanson to cut the Chiefs' lead, and a 38-yard scoring run in the third quarter by Hanson gave the home side the lead.The Indians put the game away for good with a five-yard pass by Zach O'Connell to Austin Carpenter.The result leaves both teams with a record of 3-3 heading into the final week of the regular season. The Indians will host Saranac Lake at 7:30 p.m. Friday, while the Chiefs will host Plattsburgh High School Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Gallery.
Plattsburgh Hornets @ Beekmantown Eagles - October 4th 2019
Beekmantown's Nate Finley (3) takes it around the corner and stretches out for the first touchdown at the new field. It would be week 5 of the champlain valley athletic conference and would feature the Plattsburgh Hornets at the Beekmantown Eagles at the all new Beekmantown Sports Complex. The game would take sometime to get going and it the Eagles would get on the board with the quarterback keeper for a 7 yard run by Nate Finley to make it 6-0. That would be the only scoring all the way til there was four minutes left in third quarter when Matt Dion would scoop up a fumble and take it 65 yards for the score. From there to the end the defense would clap down and the and the Eagles would get the 13-0 win. With the win the Eagles go to 4-1 and take the lead in the division while the Hornets fall to 1-4 on the season. Gallery.
Ausable Valley Patriots @ Saranac Chiefs - September 28th 2019
Ausable Valley's Eli Douglas (12) stretches out for the catch over the middle with Saranac's Connor Recoere (18). It would be week four of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and are saturday tilt would feature the Ausable Valley Patriots @ the Saranac Chiefs. The game would start off with a bang as Eli Douglas would run back the opening kickoff 92 yards and give the Patriots the 6-0 lead. The Chiefs would come right back and score four minutes later on a 2 yard run by Hunter Devins and would convert on the two point conversion and take the 8-6 lead and that would end the scoring in the first half. The Patriots would regain the lead at 13-8 on the 14 yard pass to Eli Douglas. Then just two and half minutes later the Patriots would extend there lead to as Eli Douglas would strike again this time for 73 yards and make it a 19-8 game. Then with four minutes left in the game the Patriots would put the icing on the cake with Nate Doner's 15 yard run for the 25-8 lead and hold on for the victory. Beekmentown Eagles @ Peru Indians - September 27th 2019
Beekmantown's Andrew VanNatten (25) with the breakup on the pass intended for Peru's Ian Joy (10). It would be week four of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and it would be the classic matchup under the lights as the Peru Indians would host the Beekmantown Eagles. The game would start of like the classic as there would be no score after the first quarter. The Eagles would finally break through four minutes into the second quarter as Connor McGinnis would score on a 23 yard run for the 6-0 lead. Then at the 7:44 mark of the 2nd quarter the Eagles would double there lead on a 54 yard pass and catch to Kaden Myers for the 12-0 lead. Then with just over two minutes left in the half Myers would score on a 11 yard run for the 19-0 lead at the half. When the teams came back for the second half the Eagles would keep up the effort as they would extend there lead to 26-0 on a one yard sneak by Nathan Finley. That would end the scoring on the night and the Eagles would get the 26-0 win. In the winning effort the Beekmentown Eagles go to 3-1 while the Peru Indians fall to 2-2 on the season. Gallery.
Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Peru Indians - September 20th 2019
Peru's Austin Carpenter (3) with the crunching hit on Plattsburgh's Kyle LaValley to break up the pass. It would be week of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season. As the Peru Indians would host the Plattsburgh Hornets in there first ever game under the Friday Night Lights. The game would start off good for Peru as they would get a safety 1:40 into the game for the 2-0 lead. Then about half through the first quarter the Indians strike with a 9 yard pass to Ian Joy for the 9-0 lead. That is where the game would stay till the third quarter as there would be no scoring as the defenses stepped up. Just under 5 minutes into the third quarter the Indians would score on a 6 yard run by Zach O'Connell and extend there lead to 16-0. Although the Hornets wouldn't be out done as they would take the kickoff 83 yards for the Ian Detulleo score and make it a 16-6 game. Then just a minute after that the Indians would extend there lead to 23-6 on the Austin Carpenter 73 yard catch run. Although the Hornets wouldn't go quietly as Foster Ovios would score on a 13 yard pass to make it 23-14 with just over ten minutes left in the game. Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Peru Indians - September 14th 2018
Peru's Austin Carpenter(5) with the pass breakup on Plattsburgh's Zack Bieber (88) to save the touchdown. It would be week 3 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference between cross town rivals as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Peru Indians. It would be a hard hitting game from the start and it would take til the second quarter for the first score of the game. In that first score the Peru Indians would take the 7-0 lead on the Kasen Brennan 6 yard score at the 6:25. Although the Hornets would answer back on a 30 yard pass to Tyler Phillips to tie the game at seven. Then in the closing seconds of the half the Hornets would add a 30 yard field goal from Liam Rascoe for the 10-7 lead at intermission. At the 8:42 mark of the third quarter the Hornets would extend there lead to 17-7 on the Tyler Phillips score. Although the Indians would keep fighting and get a late score from Alex Palmer. Although it would not be enough as the Hornets get the 17-13 victory. With the win the Hornets go to 3-0 as they head to Moriah next week. While the Peru Indians fall to 2-1 and head to Beekmentown next weekend. Gallery.
Ticonderoga Sentinels Vs Beekmantown Eagles - September 14th 2019
Beekmantown's Aidan Hoogkamp (28) with the catch along the numbers for the first down. It would be week 2 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and we would have the Ticonderoga Sentinels traveling to Plattsburgh and taking on the Beekmantown Eagles. The Eagles would take early lead at 3:33 of the first quarter at 7-0 on the Andrew Vannatten 40 yard pass. The Eagles would double there lead to 14-0 on a Connor McGinnis 73 yard run for the score. In the second quarter the flood gates would open up and the Eagles would score twice times while the Sentinels would get one to make it 29-7 at the half. Scoring for the Eagles would be Carson Lapier and Connor Mcginnis while Schlogel scores for Ticonderoga. When the teams came back for the second half the Eagles would keep the pedal down and Carson LaPier would score again to make it 36-7. The game would stay there til Ticonderoga's Benedict scores halfway through the fourth to make it 36-12. The Eagles would put the icing on the game with a 34 yard run by Jonah Phaneuff to secure the 42-12 victory. In the winning effort the Eagles go to 2-0 while the Sentinels fall to 0-2 on the season. Ausable Valley Patriots Vs Plattsburgh Hornets - September 13th 2019
Plattsburgh's Ovois Foster (32) with the pass tip on the ball intended for Ausable Valley's Louis Rivera (3). It would be week 2 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season and we would have the Ausable Valley Patriots traveling to the Plattsburghs Hornets. It would be home opener for the Hornets The Hornets would get the opening score of the game 3:39 in on a Ian Detuello 1 yard run for the 7-0 lead. The game would stay there til 12 seconds into second quarter when Jayvon Carpenter would break out a 30 yard run for the 14-0 lead. The Patriots would cut the lead in half on Nate Doner's 7 yard with 3 minutes left in the half to make it 14-7. Although the Hornets would march down the feild and Ian Detuello would score again on a 3 yard pass to make it 21-7 to end the half. When the teams came back for the second half the defenses would step up and there would be no scoring. So the Hornets would get the 21-7 victory and go to 1-1 while the Patriots fall to 0-2 on the season. Gallery.
Moriah Vikings Vs Saranac Chiefs - September 7th 2019
Saranac's Bryce Smith (7) with the catch along the sidelines and breaks tackle for extra yards. The Saranac Chiefs would host the Moriah Vikings in the opening saturday of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season. The Vioings would get 6-0 lead on Maddox Blaise 3 yard run in the first quarter. Although the Chiefs would answer right back with a 34 yard touchsown pass to Bryce Snith. The Vikings would regain the lead on the Deihl touchdown pass at 12-6 and take lead into the half. In the second half the rain would be coming doing at a good clup making it diffcult for both teams. The Chiefs would tie the game up midway through the third quarter with a pass to Connor Recore. In the fourth quarter Bryce Smith would get an interception and return it for a touchdown for the 20-12 lead and win. In the winning effort the Saranac Chiefs start the season at 1-0 while Moriah Vikings start at 0-1. Next week it will be the battle Saranac's with the Chiefs and Red Storm while Vikings get the Indians. Gallery.
