Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football Week 3 Saranac Lake Red Storm @ Beekmantown Eagles

It would be week three of the Champlain Valley Atheltic Conference season and the Saranac Lake Red Storm would travel to Beekmentown and take on the Eagles in what would turn out to be a shootout of a game. The scoring would start off slow as the Red Storm would have the lone score in the opening quarter by Carter Hewitt on a nine-yard run for the 7-0 lead. The Eagles would fight back and tie the game at the 4:45 mark of the second quarter on the Andrew Vannatten 66 yard run for the score and tie the game at seven. Although on ensuring Red Storm drive they would retake the lead at 14-7 on the Carter Hewitt 47 yard run. Although the Eagles would have an answer as Andrew Vannatten would strike again this time through the air with a 39-yard pass and would tie the game at 14 with under three minutes left in the half and that's where the score is is would remain for the first half. During the halftime, the Beekmentown Eagles would honor many different greats from their sports pass as they would enter their first class into the Beekmantown Eagles hall of fame. Although when the teams came back for the second half they must have really hit the Gatorade for some extra energy cause the shootout was on. The Red Storm would regain the lead for the third time on Carter Hewitt's third rushing touchdown of the night and make it a 21-14 game. Although the Eagles would have answered five minutes later not be outdone Andrew Vannatten would get his third touchdown of the night (2 rushings, 1 passing) although they would miss the extra point 21-20. The Red Storm seeing an opening would take advantage as Carter Hewitt would strike for a 51-yard touchdown 30 seconds later and extend their lead to 28-20. The Red Storm would extend their lead as the fourth quarter started as Hewitt would get his fifth touchdown of the night and make it a 35-20 game. Then just two minutes later the Red Storm would try to put the icing on the cake with a 36-yard interception for a touchdown and extend their lead to 42-20. That is where the game would stay till there was about 1:30 left in the game when Andrew Vannaten would get his 2nd receiving touchdown of the game and the Eagles would try for two and fail and the score would be 42-26. The Eagles would recover the onside kick and get a quick score again from Vannatten with 36 seconds left in the game to make 42-33. So once again they would attempt the onside kick and recovery it again. The Eagles would take it quickly down the field and score again thanks to Andrew Vannaten and make it 42-39. The late Eagles charge wouldn't be enough as they lose 42-39 and fall to 1-2 on the season while the Red Storm go to 3-1 on the season. Bext up for the Eagles would be meeting with Moriah while the Red Storm will head to Au Sable Valley.

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference - Week 3 - Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Peru Indians - September 14th 2018

Plattsburgh's Dylan Garrant (21) fights through the Peru tackler Keegan LaGrave (17) for the extra yards. It would be week 3 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference between cross town rivals as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Peru Indians. It would be a hard hitting game from the start and it would take til the second quarter for the first score of the game. In that first score the Peru Indians would take the 7-0 lead on the Kasen Brennan 6 yard score at the 6:25. Although the Hornets would answer back on a 30 yard pass to Tyler Phillips to tie the game at seven. Then in the closing seconds of the half the Hornets would add a 30 yard field goal from Liam Rascoe for the 10-7 lead at intermission. At the 8:42 mark of the third quarter the Hornets would extend there lead to 17-7 on the Tyler Phillips score. Although the Indians would keep fighting and get a late score from Alex Palmer. Although it would not be enough as the Hornets get the 17-13 victory. With the win the Hornets go to 3-0 as they head to Moriah next week. While the Peru Indians fall to 2-1 and head to Beekmentown next weekend. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Week 5 Ausable Valley Patriots @ Peru Indians September 24th 2016

Ausable Valley's Brandon Snow with the leaping catch in the corner of the endzone for the score. It would be week four of the C.V.A.C. season and the Ausable Valley Patriots would travel to the Peru Indians. The Patriots would take the 7-0 lead with 4:25 left in the first quarter on Brandon Snow's catch in the corner of the end zone. The Patriots would extend the lead to 13-0 on Brandon Snow's second touchdown of the day with 2:05 left in the half. That would be all the Patriots would need as the teams would go scoreless in the second half as the Patriots would hold on for the 13-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Patriots go to 2-2 while the Indians fall to 1-3 on the season. Gallery

#2 Au Sable Valley Patriots Vs #3 Saranac Lake Red Storm - Section VII Class B Semi-Finals - October 20 2017

Saranac Lake's Jarrett Ashton (9) with the stiff arm to Au Sable Valley's Mason Douglas (44) as he takes it for the big gain. It would be the #2 Au Sable Valley Patriots hosting the #3 Saranac Lake Red Storm in the Section 7 Class C Semi-Finals. The Red Storm would get the first score of the game from Jarrett Ashton on a 12 yard run to take the 6-0 lead 5:14 into the first quarter. The Red Storm would extend there lead to 14-0 on Jarrett Ashton's 1 yard run in the closing minute of the first quarter. The Patriots would answer back 3:37 into the second quarter with a 2 yard run by Matthew Pray to to make it a 14-6 game. The Red Storm would come back to regain there 14 point lead on a 19 yard pass to Ward Walton at 7:32 on the second quarter to make it 21-6. When the teams came back for the second half the Red Storm would not let up as they would extend the lead to 28-6 on Jarrett Ashton's third touchdown run of the night. In the fourth quarter the Red Storm's DJ Morgan would a running touchdown to put the icing on the cake of a 35-6 victory. In the winning effort the Red Storm go 2-6 and will face the Saranac Chiefs in the Class C Championship. In the losing effort the Patriots season comes to end at 1-7.Gallery

#2 Beekmantown Eagles Vs #3 Peru Indians - Section VII Class B Semi-Finals - October 21 2017

Beekmantown's Brandon Belrose (7) jumps the route and puts the hand out there to break up the pass intended for Robert Reynolds. It would be a classic match this time though in the playoffs as the #2 Beekmantown Eagles would host the #3 Peru Indians in the Class B Semmi-Finals. Peru would get the first score of the game at 8:58 of the first quarter on a 30 yard fumble recovery to make it 7-0. The Indians would extend the lead to 14-0 in the first few seconds of the second quarter on a 7 yard pass to Alex Rine. The Beekmantown Wagles would cut the lead in half on a 38 yard run by Cristobal Arzola to make it 14-7 at 1:58 of the second quarter. Then at the 5:06 mark of the second quarter the Eagles would tie the game at 14 on a 20 yard run by Dylan Hazel. The game would stay there til the 4th quarter when the Beekmantown Eagles would take the 21-14 lead on a 25 yard quarterback keeper from Brandon Belrose. The Indians would march right back down and score on a 10 yard pass to Robert Reynolds although they would miss the extra point to make it 21-20 with 8 minutes left. Then from that point on the game would get very questionable as there was alot of very questionable calls that would go against Beekmantown. With that going on the Indians would get the eventual game winning score with 1:50 left in the game on Kasen Brennan 12 yard run for the 26-21 victory. In the winning effort the Peru Indians go to 2-6 and have a date with the Plattsburgh Hornets for the Class B Championships and the Beekmantown Eagles season comes to a end at 4-4. Gallery

#1 Ticonderoga Sentinels Vs #2 Moriah Vikings - Section VII Class D Championship - October 27 2017

Moriah's Dylan Trombley (10) steps in front of Ticonderoga's Ethan Thompson (39) and makes the catch on the goal line to save the touchdown. It would be the Section VII Class D Championship between long time rivals the #1 Ticonderoga Sentinels and the #2 Moriah Vikings. The Sentinels would take the 7-0 lead 5 minutes into the first quarter on Hayden Scuderi's 1 yard run. The Moriah Vikings would get on the board in the last minute of the first quarter on a Rob Flack 6 yard touchdown but they would fail the 2 point conversion and trail 7-6 after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Vikings would take a 14-7 lead on a Connor Anderson 2 yard run at 7:45 of the quarter. The game would stay there all the way til the 8:20 mark of the third quarter when Pelkey would score on the 1 yard run to make it 22-7. Then at the 4:15 mark of the fourth quarter Pelkey would score again for the Vikings to extend there lead to 28-7. The Sentinels would then do there best to make a comeback as they would score 43 seconds later on a 13 yard pass to Michael Dushane to make it 28-15. The Sentinels would keep fighting and with 35 seconds left in the game Michael Dushane would score again to make it 28-22. The Sentinels would then attempt the onside but it would be unsuccessful and the Vikings would get the 28-22 victory. In the winning effort the Moriah Vikings would go to 8-1 on the season and have a meeting with the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks in the New York State Class D First Round. As the Ticonderoga Sentinels season comes to an end at 8-1. Gallery

#1 Plattsburgh Hornets Vs #3 Peru Indians - Section VII Class B Championship - October 28 2017

Plattsburgh's Jordan Moore(4) with the great two handed tippy toe catch in the endzone. It would be the #1 Plattsburgh Hornets meeting up with the #3 Peru Indians in the Section VII Class B Championship. This would be a defensive battle between two evenly matched teams. As the Peru Indians would score first with a minute left in the first quarter on Kasen Brennan 6 yard touchdown. The game would stay there til 4:28 left in the second quarter when Jordan Moore would score on a 13 yard pass although the hornets would miss the extra point and the Indians would have a 7-6 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the second half the defenses would stay stout as there would be no scoring. The Peru Indians would get the 7-6 victory and be crowned the 2017 Section VII champions and advance to the New York State Class B Tournament and play the Gouvenour Wildcats. Gallery

Potsdam Sandstoners Vs Beekmantown Eagles - November 8th 2019
Beekmantown's Connor McGinnis (32)with the stiff around as he go through Potsdam's Anthony Zoanetti (7) for the first down. It would be the first round of the New York State Class B Football championships and would feature the Beekmantown Eagles and the Potsdam Sandstoners. It would take til near the end of the first quarter when we would get the first score of the game from Potsdam's Will Varney on a 1 yard run with a 1:40 left and make it 6-0. The Sandstoners would strike again 11 seconds later after they recovered the onside kick and scoring on a 40 yard run to make it 12-0. Then with 1:40 left in the first half the Sandstoners Will Varney would score again on a 2 yard run to make it 18-0 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the Eagles would still not have answer for the Sandstoners. In the third quarter the Sandstoners would score two more times in the third quarter one by Will Varney and Bobby Voss for the 30-0 Sandstoners win. In the winning effort the Potsdam Sandstoners go to 8-2 and advance to the quarterfinals while the Beekmantown Eagles season comes to an end 6-3. Gallery.
#1 Moriah Vikings Vs #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels - November 4th 2019
The Moriah Vikings pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2019 New York State Section VII Class D champions. It would be the annual match up in the Section VII Class D championship. As the #1 Moriah Vikings would play the #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels. The Vikings would take the 8-0 lead at the 3:28 mark of the first quarter with a Maddox Blaise 2 yard run. The game would stay there the first play of the second quarter when Maddox Blaise gets a 3 yard run to make it 14-0 viings. Then on the next drive the Vikings would score his first of the night on a 13 yard run at 3:41 of the second quarter and take the 22-0 lead into the half. When the teams came out for the second half it would be more of the same as the Vikings would get two more touchdowns coming from Braden Swan and Todd Malbon for the 34-0 victory. In the winning effort the Moriah Vikings go to 6-3 and to the New York State Class D Playoffs as the Ticonderoga Sentinels season comes to end at 1-8. Gallery.
