The Peabody Padres and Adam's Glass Dodgers would meet in a midweek contest as the makeup of rain from earlier in the Champlain Valley Baseball League. The Padres would take the 1-0 lead in the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Donny Coolidge scoring Matt Hart. The Dodgers would come back in the third with a pair of runs on Kyle McCarthy's 2 RBI double. The game would stay there till the sixth inning when the Padres would tie the game up at two on a Matt Orsmby base hit. The game would go to extra innings and in the eighth inning, Frank Brogna would hit a single to knock home Matt Hart and win the game for the Padres In the winning effort Kalob Drollette would go all 8 innings giving up 2 runs on 9 hits and 3 walks while striking out 9 as the Padres go to 9-4 on the season. Tylor Terry(44), Shawn Duquette (18), and Ryan Boutin (28) fighting for restating on the bottom of turn one as they enter. We would be back for another action pack night of racing as part of week nine at Airborne Park Speedway. There would be some great racing throughout the night in the 358 Modifieds, Sportsman Modifieds, Renegades, and Mini-Modifieds. Also on hand for the evening would be fireworks after the racing and Jamie Lee Thurston. When it was all said and done on the night Jessey Mueller would win the 358 Modifieds, Mark Lamberton Sportsman Modifieds, Robert Gordon Renegades, and Harold LaVair in the Mini-Modifieds. Next week on tap at Airborne Park Speedway would be the 358 Modifieds, Renegades, Mini-Modifieds, and twin races for the Late Models.

Empire Football League Week 1 Plattsburgh North Stars Vs Troy Fighting Irish June 28 2014

Plattsburgh's Greg Archer (55) with the wrap-up tackle on the inside on Troy running back trying to break throw. The Plattsburgh North Stars would host the Troy Fighting Irish in non-league action. The North Stars would take the 7-0 lead in the first on Dexter Geohagan touchdown. The North Stars would extend the lead to 13-0 on Dexter Geohagan touchdown. Later in the second quarter, the Fighting Irish would score two touchdowns and give the Fighting Irish the 14-13 lead at the half. In the third quarter, the Fighting Irish would extend there lead to 22-13 on another touchdown. That is where the game would stay until the 4th quarter when the North Stars would get a 35-yard field goal to make it 22-16. On the in suing kickoff the North Stars would recover the onside kick and a few plays later take it down the field and score on Dexter Geohagan's third touchdown of the day and give the North Stars the 23-22 lead. Although the lead would be short-lived as the Fighting Irish would go down the field on there next drive and take the lead back at 28-23 and hold on for the win. In the losing effort, the Plattsburgh North Stars fall to 1-1 on the season. The North Stars are now off till July 12th when they will hit the road to take on the Glove Cities Colonies. Gallery

Peabody's Matt Hart (10) slaps the tag on Fourth Ward's Rock (3) trying to steal third base. The Peabody Padres would host the Fourth Ward Cardinals in Week of 8 The Champlain Valley Baseball League with first place on the line. The Padres would take the 1-0 lead in the third inning on an RBI single by Shane Perrotte. The Cardinals would tie the game up at one in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Will Flynn. The Padres would take the lead back at 2-1 in the fifth when Matt Hart would score on a fielder's choice. Then in the sixth, the Padres would finish off the game with Brady Burleigh RBI triple to secure the 3-1 victory. In the winning effort, Matt Rivers would go seven innings give up 1 run on 1 hit while striking out 6. In the second game, the Cardinals would take the quick 1-0 lead on a Joe Tolosky fielder's choice. The Padres would tie the game up in the bottom of the first with an RBI single by Jeff Norton. Then in the fourth inning, the Cardinals would get two runs to make it 3-1 on a sacrifice fly to score Ben Weightman, and then Eric Dwyer would score on a double steal. From there on the Cardinals would shut the Padres down for the 3-1 win and get the split on the day. In the winning effort, Will Flynn would go the distance giving up 1 run on 8 hits while striking out 7. With the split on the day, the Cardinals maintain there game lead in the standings. Gallery

Jason Bruno (66) and Tyson Drown (6) would get tangled up, in turn, four with Drown coming out on the worse end. It would be week seven at Airborne Park Speedway and it would feature the 98.9 WOKO Renegade 100. In the undercard for the evening, Scott Richner would win the Mini-Modified, Jason Durgan would chase Codie Aubin in the closing laps of the Sportsman Modified feature. Then in the Sportsman, Modified/Big Block Modified Challenge Nick Heywood would lead wire to wire. Then it would be time for the Renegade 100 after the intros the race would get off to a slow start with three cautions in a third of the race. Once things would calm down Robert Gordon and Shawn Duquette would do battle at the top with Robert Gordon getting the eventual win.

Fourth Ward's Pat Shagunnessy (7) slides around the tag at second base and is safe with the stolen base. The Plattsburgh Cardinals would host the Fourth Ward Athletics in a rare mid-week game for the Champlain Valley Baseball League. The game would remain scoreless until the 4th inning when Cardinals Brain Latulipe would have a 2 RBI single to give the Cardinals the 2-0 lead. The Cardinals would extend there lead to 3-0 on an RBI single by Sherman. The Athletics would score in the sixth on an error to get on the board to make it 3-1. In the seventh, the Athletics would get two runs one on a past ball scoring Gus Terry and fielder's choice scoring Barcomb to tie the game at 3. Then at the bottom of the inning, the Cardinals would win the game on a walk-off a bunt by Eric Dwyer to give the Cardinals the 4-3 win. In the winning effort, Sherman would go the distance striking out three while giving up 3 runs on 3 hits. With the win, the Cardinals stay in first place in the standings. Gallery

Fourth Ward's Jessey with the diving stop at shortstop to rob a Padre's base hit. The Peabody Padres and the Fourth Ward Athletics would meet in week 6 of the Champlain Valley Baseball League at Saranac. The Padres would take the quick 1-0 lead in the first inning of game one when Shane Perrote would score on a pass ball. The Athletics would tie the game up at one in the bottom of the inning on a Richards RBI single. The Padres would take the 2-1 lead in the third on Jeff Norton's RBI single. The Athletics would tie the game at two on Buck's RBI single. The Athletics would take the 3-2 lead on Eliott's sacrifice. Then in the 6th inning, the Athletics would explode for five runs and secure the 8-2 win in game one. In the win for the Athletics Kirkpatrick would give two runs on five hits while striking five. In the second game, it would be a pitchers duel. The game would be scoreless till the 6th inning when the Padres would get 4 runs helped by Mark Eggleston's 2 run homer. That would be all the Padres would need as they would hold on for the 4-0 win to gain the split on the day. In the winning effort, Jeff Norton would go the distance for the shutout while scattering five hits and striking out six. As for batting Jeff Norton would go 4-7 at the plate with 2 RBI's as the Padres go to 7-3 on the season. Gallery

Dale O'Neill (16) Rob Snies (3) and Jay LaGrave (79) take it three-wide and tight to the bottom of turn one during the Mini-Modified feature. It would be week 6 at the Airborne Park Speedway and it would be brought to you by Plattsburgh Ford, UniFirst, and Loremans. There would be five different divisions in action with the 358 Modifieds, Sportsman Modifieds, Late Models, Mini-Modifieds, and the new Strictly 6's. There would be some tight racing throughout the night with only a couple of accidents on the night and both in the Sportsman Modified feature. The winners on the night would be Patrice McGill (358 Modifieds), Nick Sweet (Late Models twice), Nick Heywood (Sportsman Modified), Scott Richner (Mini-Modified) and Shawn Founation would win the first Strictly 6's. Next week we will be back in action with the 98.9 WOKO Renegade 100.

The Peabody Padres would host the Meron's Expos in week 5 of the Champlain Valley Baseball League. In the opening game, the Padres would take the 1-0 lead in the third on an RBI single by Mark Eggleston. The Expos would come back in the fourth and tie the game at one on a sacrifice fly. The Padres would regain the lead in the fifth with two runs one by wild pitch score Shane Perrotte and Matt Rivers would score on an RBI sacrifice fly by Brady Burleigh to take a 3-1 lead. In the sixth inning, the Expos would try and come back with an RBI single by Dominick but it would come up short and the Padres win game 1. In the winning effort, Matt Rivers would go the distance giving 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out seven. In the second game, the Expos would take the 2-0 lead in third with a pair of RBI singles by Matt Golden and Chris Rodenbeck for the 2-0 lead. Then in the fifth inning, the Expos would extend there lead to 5-0 with a 2 RBI double by Bourdeau and an RBI single by Cliff Connors. In the sixth inning, the Padres would get on the board with a Brady Burleigh score to make it 5-1. Then in seventh, they would score again on Brady Burleigh RBI single to give the Expos the 5-2 win. In the winning effort, Mike Bergmen would go the distance giving up 2 runs on 2 hits. With the split, the Padres go to 6-2 while the Expos go to 7-3 on the season.

Jamey Bresette (03) and Andrew Bourdeau (08) side by side and tight through turn 1 and 2 in the Sportsman Modified Feature. It would be Dig Safety NY and Aaron's night at Airborne Park Speedway. The day would start off good with some good battles and clean racing. Then we would get to the main event of the evening the Sportsman Modified 100. In that race we would have two separate crashes both requiring red flags, in the end, Travis Bruno would get the win for his second of the season. In the other races, Chris LaVair would win the mini-modifieds, Kris Vernold first career 358 modified win, Lance Rabtoy wins Renegades. Next week it will be the Airborne Park Speedway Late Model Twin 25's along with all other divisions.
