The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #10 Williams Ephs in the Quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. The Williams Ephs would be looking for the upset as they would score just 1:15 into the first period on Gabrielle Vukasin's goal to give the Ephs the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till there was 1:27 left in the first and Ali Vakos would tie the game up at one. The Cardinals would make some obvious adjustments as Ali Vakos would score just 28 seconds into the second for her second of the night and give the Cardinals the 2-1 lead. Then at the 12:11 mark of the second period, Ali Vakos would finish off the natural hat trick and give the Cardinals the 3-1 lead. Then just 31 seconds into the third period Ali Vakos would strike again and have a texas hat trick for the 4-1 lead and from there the Cardinals would hold on for the win. In the winning effort, Sydney Aveson would make 24 saves on the night and the Cardinals head to the final four next weekend where they will take on St. Thomas. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State team celebrates behind the net as they would get the game-winner in overtime. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Williams Ephs in a non-conference contest. Williams would take the 1-0 lead on Nick Anderson's goal at 11:29 of the first period. That is where the game would remain until the 7:30 mark of the second period when Preston Kaye would get the tying goal on the power play to make it 1-1. Then Ephs would get two goals in just under a minute between the 8:30 and 9:30 mark from Nick Anderson and Peter Mistretta to make it 3-1 Ephs. Then with under three minutes left in the second, the Ephs would get a power-play goal from Matt Doyle to make it 4-1 Ephs after two periods. Then just a 1:18 into the third period the Cardinals would start there comeback on Kevin Emmerling's goal to make it 4-2. Then with five minutes left in third Barry Roytman would score to make it 4-3 with the extra attacker. Then just a 1:19 later the comeback would be complete as Kevin Emmerling would light the lamp and send the game into overtime. In that overtime, Luke Baleshta would send the home crowd home happy with the winner when he knocked in the rebound with twenty seconds left.
