ECAC Hockey Conferene Women's Hockey Semi-Finals: #1 Yale Bulldogs Vs #4 Cornell Big Red March 6th 2026

Yale's Samson Frey (27) with the pad save as part of a 26 save night in the 7-2 win over Cornell. For the first time in the history of the ECAC Hockey Conference, the Women's Hockey Tournament would have its final four and championship at the famed Herb Brooks Arena, the site of the 1980 Miracle on Ice. The first semi-final game would see the #1 Yale Bulldogs take on the #4 Cornell Big Red in front of 1,800 fans, with the winner advancing to the championship the next day. The Big Red would get the opening goal of the game just 44 seconds into the game from Avi Adam for the 1-0 lead. The Bulldogs would get the tying goal at the 14:04 mark when Gracie Gilkyson would score on the power play to make it a 1-1 game. The Bulldogs would answer again just three minutes later, from Emma McGowan, to give the Bulldogs the 2-1 lead, and that's where the first period would end. The Bulldogs would stay on fire as they returned for the second period when Molly Boyle would strike just 2:47 into the second period to give them the 3-1 lead. Then at the 8:55 mark of the period, the Bulldogs would extend their lead to 4-1 when Carina DiAntonio would score. The Big Red would finally have an answer just 1:33 into the third period when Delaney Fleming would light the lamp and make it a 4-2 game. The Bulldogs would regain their three-goal lead when Stephanie Stainton would score on the short-handed to make it a 5-2ThenTh, en at the 14:55 mark of the thirperiodri, Carina DiAntonio would get her second goal of thgamega, this time on an empty-netter, to make it 6-, and then,e n with just seconds left in the gam, Avery Peters would score to secure the 7-2 victory. In the Bulldogs' winning effort, Samson Frey made 26 saves as they went to 25-8 and advanced to the championship game. In the losing effort for the Big Red, Annelies Bergman would make 26 saves as they fell to 20-11-2 and await an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Gallery
