NYSPHSAA Boys Hockey Malone Huskies Vs Plattsburgh Hornets December 2 2014

Plattsburgh's Dean Dashnaw (30) with the chest save on the shot from Malone's Kyler Head (20) wrister. The Malone Huskies would host the Plattsburgh Hornets in nonleague action as there home opener. The game would remain scoreless until the last minute of the first period when the Huskies would make it 1-0 on Jordan Schrafs goal. The game would stay there till the 6-minute mark of the second period when Hornet's Devin Clarke would score to make it 1-1. The Huskies would regain the lead at 2-1 on Evan Keegan's goal at 12:59 of the second period. Then at 2:57 of the third period Huskies, Kyler Head would make it 3-1 with a shorthanded goal. Then at the 8:42 mark of the third, the Hornet's would do there best to get back in the game with a power-play goal by Andrew Bechard to make it 3-2. Although it wouldn't be enough and from there the Huskies would hold on for the 3-2 victory. In the winning effort, Malone's Joey Brown makes 28 saves and the Huskies go to 1-0 on the season. Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Week 7 Saranac Chiefs Vs Plattsburgh Hornets October 11 2014

Saranac's Caiden Goodman (2) with the touchdown after he catches the tip in the end zone. The Saranac Chiefs would host the Plattsburgh Hornets in the first-ever Saranac River Bowl. The Hornets would take the 6-0 lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter. The score would stay there till the third quarter when the Hornets would get a second rushing touchdown to make it 12-0. Then later in the third quarter, the Chiefs would get on the board on a Hunter Church touchdown to make it 12-6. Then with about four minutes left in the game Caiden Goodman would catch a tipped ball in the end zone and tie the game up at 12. Then after a very short punt by the Hornets, the Chiefs would get the ball back and George Miller would take it up the middle for the winning touchdown with under a minute for the 20-12 victory. In the winning effort, the Chiefs would improve there record 2-4 while the Hornets fall to 0-6 on the season. Gallery

Chateaugay Bulldogs @ Saranac Volley Tournament September 20 2014
Chateaugay's Kylie Hanley (35) with tip st the net past Au Sable Valley blocker at the net. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would return to Saranac for the Saranac Volleyball Tournament. There would be a total of nine teams at the tournament. The nine teams at the tournament would be Chateaugay, Saranac, Lake Placid, Ogdensburg, Plattsburgh, Northern Adirondack, Au Sable Valley, and Peru. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would go 13-3 only losing single games Peru, Saranac, and Ogdensburg. With the 13-3 record, the Bulldogs would finish second on the day behind the winners the Peru Indians. The Plattsburgh Hornets would play the #2 Ogdensburg Blue Devils at the Plattsburgh State Field House in the quarterfinals. The game would start out close as the Blue Devils would have a 27-22 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Blue Devils would start to pull away as they had a 31-8 quarter and took the 58-30 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would be more of the same the Blue Devils win the quarter 25-8 and take an 83-38 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Blue Devils would call off the attack and the Hornets would win the quarter 11-9. Although it would not nearly be enough as the Blue Devils get the 92-49 win. With the lose the Hornets season comes to an end at 15-5. Gallery.

The game would start out close as the Blue Devils would have a 27-22 lead after the first quarter. Ausable Valley's Austin Facteau (21) would slide in with underhand layup off the window. The #1 Plattsburgh Hornets would play the #2 Ausable Valley Patriots at SUNY Plattsburgh. The Hornets would jump out to a big lead at 25-6 lead after one. The Patriots would battle back in the second and win the quarter 19-10 the Hornets would still lead 35-25 at the break. In the third the Patriots would keep fighting back and win the quarter 19-11 and cut into the deficit at 45-44. In the fourth fatigue would set in on the Patriots as the Hornets win the quarter 20-12 and secure the 66-56 win. In the winning effort Garrett Fardy would lead the way with 30 points as the Hornets advance to the New York State Playoffs. Gallery

The Plattsburgh Hornets pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2014 Section VII Class B Champions. The #1 Plattsburgh Hornets would play the #2 Ausable Valley Patriots at SUNY Plattsburgh. The Northeastern Clinton Cougars would travel over to Plattsburgh to take on the Hornets in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference on how action. The game would be an offensive show of force. The Cougars would get the first goal from Nick Ladue at the four-minute mark of the first. Then at 10:53 mark of the first the Cougars would extend the lead to 2-0 on Colby Boire's goal. Then in the final two minutes of the period the Cougars would make it 3-0 Nick Ladue's second goal of the night. The second period would be a carryover of the first when Mason Letourneau would score to make it 4-0. Finally at the 6:12 mark the Hornets would get on board thanks to Eric Bechard to make it 4-1. Then at the 10:03 mark John Fine Lease would score to make it 4-2 and now we have a game. Just over two minutes later it would be a one-goal game with Eric Bechard's second of the night. Then with 15 seconds left in the period the Hornets would tie it up at 4 on Jack Tolosky's goal. The Cougars would retake the lead at 5-4 on Andrew Arless's goal. Then just twenty seconds later Nick Ladue would add his third goal of the game to make it 6-4. Then in the closing minutes Ladue would add a fourth goal on the empty netter to secure the 7-4 win.
