Empire Football League Week 4: Plattsburgh North Stars @ Glens Falls Greenjackets July 28 2012

Plattsburgh's Krys Ross (14) steps in front of the Glens Falls wide receiver for the interception along the sidelines. The Plattsburgh North Stars would travel down to Glens Falls to take on the Greenjackets. The Plattsburgh North Stars would defeat the Glens Falls Greenjackets 34-22 to keep control of the Mayor's Cup. The North Stars would get off to a quick start when Krys Ross would nearly run back the openning kickoff but the North Stars would score on the next play to take the lead. The teams would play equal for the rest of the half and the North Stars would actually trail 22-20 at the break. In the second half, the North Stars defense would clamp down and not allow a score and the North Stars would get the 34-22 win. With the win, the North Stars go to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the league as Monroe County comes in Plattsburgh next week. Gallery

Plattsburgh's Kevin Gibson (44) turns and makes the beautiful one-handed catch and takes it all the way to the one. The Plattsburgh North Stars would defeat the Southern Vermont Storm 34-19. The Plattsburgh North Stars would start there season with many new faces and old faces in new places. As the game started you could see the changes were affecting their execution with many penalities. Although they would get it figured out and start to click. The first score of the game would come on a beautiful catch by Kevin Gibson that he would take the endzone for the lead early. Harry Rascoe would have to more touchdown passes on the day in the win. It would be the Malone Huskies hosting the Potsdam Sandstones in the Northern Football Conference Class A Championship. It would be a close game throughout the first half as both teams would trade scores back and forth with the Huskies taking at 27-20 lead into the break. Although when the second half would start the Huskies would show their dominance as they would score four times in the third quarter to end up getting the 48-20 victory. In the winning effort John Picarco would have a three-touchdown day. With the win, the Malone Huskies advance to the state playoffs against Brunt Hill next weekend at Stillwater High School. Then on the opening drive of the second half, the Eagles would score and that would end it for the Chief. As the Eagles would go to score twice more and get the 34-0 victory. Plattsburgh North Stars Kris Ross (14) and Kevin Gibson (53) wrap up and take down the Albany Metro Mallers running back. The Plattsburgh North Stars quest to repeat as EFL Champions came to end in Amsterdam against the Albany Metro Mallers with a 29-14 defeat. It would be a game that would it fair share of hard-hitting and rain that would play havoc on the game. It was a tight game through the first half that would see the teams deadlocked at 14 at the break. Then the second half the North Stars would have their chances just couldn't get anything to connect. The season will end for the Plattsburgh North Stars with an 11-3 record on the season. Gallery
