Malone Huskies Vs Beekmantown Eagles December 27th 2024
The Malone Huskies celebrate as Bradley Popure would hit the buzzer-beater for the 60-59 win over the Beekmantown Eagles. It would be the annual return of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic. The day's opening game would see a matchup between the Beekmantown Eagles from Section VII and the Malone Huskies from Section X in a rematch from an earlier match this season. It would be a great start for the Malone Huskies as they roll out to a 15-4 lead after the first quarter with some great pressure defense. The teams would be a little more evenly matched in the second quarter as the Eagles would find their offense. It would be an 18-16 quarter for the Huskies, and they would take the 33-20 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, both offenses would stay hot, and it would be a 24-21 quarter for the Eagles, but the Huskies would hold onto the lead at 54-44 lead. When the fourth quarter would start, the Huskie offense would go to sleep as the Eagles would step up their defense, and they would have a 15-6 quarter. The game would come down to the buzzer when Bradley Popure hit the buzzer-beater to give the Huskies the 60-59 victory. In the winning effort, they will go to 4-3 on the season as they will play the Peru Nighthawks tomorrow for a chance to win the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic. As for the Beekmantown, the Eagles will go to 3-3 during the season as they will take on the Saranac Spartans. Gallery
Applebee's Winter Classic Championship: #7 Rye Garnet @ Beekmantown Eagles December 20th, 2024
Beekmantown's Edward Sweenor (55) with the wrister that beats the defender for the opening goal of the game although the Garnets would get the 7-2 win. It would be the championship of the 2024 edition of the Applebee's Winter Classic, featuring the #7 Rye Garnets and the Beekmantown Eagles from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The Eagles would get on the board at the 9:27 mark of the first period when Edward Sweenor scored for the 1-0 lead. Then, at the 12:19 mark of the period, the Eagles would return and extend their lead to 2-0 on the Jackson Deyo goal and take the lead into the first intermission. In the second period, the Garnet would fight back with two goals and tie the game at 2. When the teams returned for the third period, the Garnets would come out on fire and explode for five goals to secure the 7-2 victory and claim the 2024 Applebee's Winter Classic. As for the Beekmantown Eagles, they will finish 2nd in the Winter Classic and go to 3-3 on the season as Jack Bell would make 29 saves on the afternoon and will return to action on January 6th as they take on the Plattsburgh Hornets in the annual Hannah's Hope game. Applebee's Winter Classic Consolation Game : Storm Vs Northeastern Clinton Cougars December 21st, 2024
Storm's Quin Rice (24) gets a stick on Northeastern Clinton's Cobe LaFountain (5) as he broke in on the net for the scoring chance. It would be day 2 of the Applebee's Winter Classic from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena, and it would see the Northeastern Clinton Cougars and Guilderland Stoem in the Consolation game. The game would start well for the Storm as they would get the opening goal at the 9:10 mark of the first period when Keegan McGovern would score to make it a 1-0 Storm game. The game would stay there until the 6:08 mark of the second period when the Storm would strike again from Klaidi Gjini to score to give them the 2-0 lead. Then, with just under three minutes left in the game, the Storm and Gjini would strike again as the Storm would secure the 3-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Storm would finish third in the tournament behind Devin Kelly's 23-save night as they went to 2-4 in the early season. As for the Northeastern Clinton Cougars, Greysn LaFountain would make 34 saves and drop to 0-3 on the season. Gallery.
PBR Manchester Champonship Night December 21st, 2024
Derek Kolbaba is crowned the winner of the PBR Manchester event and his first event win in seven years on tour. went It would be championship Saturday night on the PBR as the Unleash the Beast Tour would make their 5th stop of the 2025 season as they return to the SNHU Arena, and there will be a sell-out crowd as they will be waiting to see who would be winning on this night. On the second night of the PBR, Manchester would start in favor of the Bulls as only three of the first half of the second round would make the 8 seconds. In the end, there would be 12 that would make the time for the round, and only six would be perfect after the second round, with the leader of the pack being Derek Kolbaba with a 175, and Kolbaba and Pacheco would win the round with 87.5. Then it would be onto the short go, where they would bring the top 12 after the first two rounds. In short, Aerekrek Alibaba would have the first pick in the draft, and he would take the last rough ride. In the short round, Claudio Montanha would get the first 90-point rid90-point weekend aboard Mike's Motitave to take the overall lead at 178. The lead would be short-lived, though, as Kaiden Loud would get on Buffalo Heifer and ride him for 88.75 and become the first rider of the weekend to cover all three pulls and take the lead into the clubhouse with a score of 260. Then it would be down to Derek Kolb and Red River, and he w990-point rideideo a 990-point ride, get his first event win seasons and seven seasons, and move to the number 4 spot in the battle for the World Title. The PBR will be right back in action next weekend as they head over to the state of New York for the 6th stop on tour as they roll into the state capital in Albany. Gallery.
Applebee's Winter Classic Day 1: Rye Garnet Vs Northeastern Clinton Cougars December 20th, 2024
Rye's Sean Draddy (20) with the shot from the backdoor for the goal as the Garnets would get the 13-0 victory. It would be the opening game of the Applebee's Winter Classic, and it would see the #7 Rye Garnets from Section 1 taking on the Northeastern Clinton Cougars from Section VII. This would be a day that the Garnets would be in control from the start as they would get three goals in the first period and take the 3-0 lead. When the teams return for the second period, the Garnets stay in control as they come out and score five more goals, taking the 8-0. When the teams returned for the third period, the Garnets would not release the gas. They would add another five goals to secure the 13-0 victory and take on the Beekmantown Eagles tomorrow in the championship game. Gallery.
Applebee's Winter Classic Semi-Finals: Guilderland Storm @ Beekmantown Eagles December 20th, 2024
Beekmantown's Novak Jarus (9) beats the Storm goalie and puts the puck in the center of the net for the score as the Eagles get the 9-3 win. It would be the opening game of the 2024 edition of the Applebee's Winter Classic from the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse, and it would feature the Guilderland Storm from Section II and Beekmantown Eagles from Section VII. The game would start great for the Eagles as they would light the lamp five times in the opening period from Jacoby Weeden, Mason Carter (twice), Evan Bruyere, and Pryce Parker. When the teams returned for the second period, it would be more of the same for the Eagles as they would add another three goals from Novak Jarus, Jackson Deyo, and Edward Sweenor for the 8-0 Eagles lead. In the third period, they would finish off their scoring on Novak Jarus's second of the night. The Storm would answer back their way with three goals in the period, but it would not be enough as the Eagles would get the 9-3 win and head to the finals against the Rye Garnet. PBR Manchester Round 1 December 20th, 2024
Adriano Salgado, with the ride of the night aboard Lights Out, one of Blae Sharps's bulls, would have 89 points. It would be the opening night of PBR Manchester in front of a near-sell-out crowd. Thirty-nine of the top bull riders in the world will be in attendance as the Pro Bull Riders make their annual return to the SNHU Arena. The Cowboys would have the upper hand on the Bulls this evening as 18 would get qualified rides at night. The scariest moment of the night would be when Vitor Losnake would go against Bad Hart when he would smack face first off the bull and be knocked out and just along for the ride and then land square on the top of the head when he would hit the ground and just lay motionless on the ground and would be taken out of the arena the on backboard,d. Still, we find out later that he would return to the arena later that night but be done for the weekend. The ride of the night would go to Adriano Salgado with an 89, as he would be the opening night winner. Although there would be a trio of riders hot on feels in the running for the 40k first place check as Claudio Montanha, Derek Kolbaba, and Kaique Pacheco would all be tied at 87.5 as Keyshawn Whitehorse and Paulo Eduardo Rossetto would round out the top 5 with 87's. Northeastern Clinton Cougars @ Plattsburgh Hornets February 20th 2024
Plattsburgh's Liam Perkins (34) with the baby jump shot in front of the net as the Hornets would get the 56-32 win on the night. It would be the home opener for the Plattsburgh Hornets as they would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball action. I would start slow, with both teams missing their shots early in the game as they were getting a feel for the night, but in the second half of the quarter, the teams would feel better, and the Cougars would have the 5-point lead at 15-10 at the end of the first. In the second quarter, the Hornets would come alive on offense, and their defense would be shut down as they would explode for a 15-2 quarter and take a 25-17 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half, the Hornets would stay hot out there as they would have a 17-4 quarter, expand on their run at 32-6, and take the 42-21 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the teams would play a little more equal as the Hornets would call all of the dogs and have a 14-11 quarter as they would get the 56-32 victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets would go to 4-1 on the season as they head into their game next week against Hudson Falls. As for the Northeastern Clinton Cougars, they will head into the Christmas break at 3-3. Gallery
Keene Beavers @ Seton Catholic Knights December 16th 2024
Keene's Vann Morrelli (0) comes flying in from behind the play to get the block on Seton Catholic's Michael Mannix (11) as they would get the 60-56 victory. We would have Mountain Valley Athletic Conference action inside Section VII as the Seton Catholic Knights would host the Keene Beavers in an early season tilt. The game would start quickly, with both teams going up and down the court, and the Knights would have a slight 15-12 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the high pace of both teams would continue as the Beavers would win the quarter 19-15 and take the slim 31-30 lead into the intermission. When the teams return for the second half, they will still have the high pass up and down the court, as the Beavers will have the 14-11 and get a slightly bigger lead at 45-41 after three quarters. In the quarter, the Knights would give everything they have to get back in the game and, a couple of times in the quarter, have the deficit within one; still, they would be unable to get over that hump in the quarter, and the teams would tie for the quarter at 15, but the Bevers would hold onto get the 60-56 victory. With the Keene Beavers going to 2-1 on the season as the Knights fall to 0-2, both teams will be back in action later in the week before the holiday break. Gallery
Kenmore East Bulldogs @ Saranac Spartans December 15th 2024
The celebration is on for the Saranac Spartans as Gabe Moore gets the game-winner with just under 4 minutes left in the game, and they get the 6-4 win. It would be the second game of the weekend for the Saranac Spartans as they would host another Section VI team at the Ameri-can North Arena as they continue the season's early start. The visiting Bulldogs would get the game's opening goal in the first couple of minutes for the 1-0 lead. Then, about the 4:30 mark of the game's opening period, the Spartans would tie the game up at one on the Ashtyn Catlin goal. Then, at the 6:17 mark of the period, Ashtyn Catlin would strike again for the Spartans to give them the 2-1 lead. Ten seconds later, the Bulldogs would tie the game up at two on the Evan Adair goal. The Spartan's offense would not go quietly, though, as they would retake the lead with 6 minutes left in the period on the Brody Macomber goal to make it a 3-2 Spartans lead, and that's where the first period would end. When the teams return for the second period, the defense would be the game's name as both teams would have their chances to score, but the Bulldogs would have the lone goal of the period just three minutes in to tie the game up at three. The Bulldogs would come up for the third period looking for the go-ahead goal and get it at the 5:25 mark from Ben Martin for the 4-3 lead. The game would stay there till the 10:06 mark of the period when the Spartans would tie the game up at four on the Nolan Miner. The Spartans would keep coming, and they would get their lead back at the 13:15 mark of the Gabe Moore goal and make it 5-4. Then, with just over a minute left in the game, Ashtyn Catlin would come down on the breakaway and beat the Bulldogs netminder to complete the hat trick and give the Spartans the 6-4 win. In the winning effort, Ashtyn Catlin would have three goals, and Brody Macomber would have three-point nights with a goal and two assists as they go 3-1 on the season as they head into the St. Albans tournament next weekend. As for the Kenmore East Bulldogs, they suffer their first loss of the season and go 2-1 as they head back into sectional play next week. Gallery
