Plattsburgh State Cardinals @ Skidmore Thoroughbreds January 10th 2026
Skidmore's Coleman Jenkins with the hip check on Plattsburgh State's Gabriel Filion (21) that sends him flying through the air. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would return to conference play after nearly two months away, traveling to Saratoga to take on the newest member of the SUNYAC, the Skidmore Thoroughbreds, at the Saratoga Springs Ice Arena in front of 500 fans. The Thoroughbreds would take the 1-0 lead at the 12:22 mark of the first on the Matthew Franzoi goal. The game would stay there until the 5:44 mark of the second period, when Matthew Franzoi would get his second of the night and make it 2-0. The Cardinals would answer back 2:08 later with the shorthanded goal by Vlad Pshenichnikov and make it a 2-1 game. The Cardinals would score again 31 seconds later and tie the game at two on Riley Sutherland's goal. The game would remain tied till the 15:58 mark of the third period when the Thoroughbreds' Coleman Jenkins would score to make it 3-2. Then, in the closing seconds of the game, Tyler Fogu would add the empty netter for the Thoroughbreds and secure the 4-2 victory. In the winning effort for the Thoroughbreds, Tommy Aitken would make 21 saves as they went to 6-6-2 on the season. As for the Cardinals, Brady Spry would make 33 saves as they fall to 7-7-1 on the season, as they both will play Potsdam and Canton next weekend. Gallery
Middlebury Union Tigers @ Saranac Spartans January 10th 2026
The Middlebury Union Tigers celebrate as they get their game-winner in overtime for the 6-5 victory. It would be an interstate contest, as the Saranac Spartans would host the Middlebury Union Tigers from Vermont at the American North Arena as part of the state 2026 portion of their schedule. The Tigers would answer the bell just 38 seconds into the game on Evan Northrup's goal. The game would stay there for the rest of the period. The Tigers would extend their lead to 2-0 on Ethan Mulcahy's goal at the 1:22 mark of the second period. The Spartans would answer back at the 2:52 mark of the second period on the Gabe Moore goal. The Tigers would regain their two-goal lead just 13 seconds later on the Asa Root Pratt to make it 3-1. The Spartans kept coming, and at the 6:05 mark of the second period, Robbie Squier scored to make it a 3-2 game. The Tigers would once again retake the two-goal lead at 4-2 at the 8:12 mark of the period, when Asa Root Pratt would get his second goal of the game. In the third period, the Spartans would come out shooting and, once again, make it a one-goal game at 4-3 just 1:26 in on the Zane Vaughn goal. Then at the 7:32 mark of the period, the Spartans would tie it for the first time in the afternoon on the Adrian Barnes goal. Aiddlebury would answer with 3:14 left in the game on the Tyler Munson goal. Although the Spartans wouldn't go quietly, they would once again tie the game at four on the Brady Macomber goal. The teams would head to overtime, and two minutes in, the Tigers would get the game-winner from Gabe Quesnel to secure the 5-4 win. In the winning effort, the Tigers would go to 5-3 on the season as TJ Baron made 39 saves. As for the Spartans, they combined for 18 saves as they fell to 1-6 on the season. Gallery
Universel Sherbrooke @ New York Dynamo January 9th 2026
New York's Colton Warren (8) tries to stuff the pass to Sherbrooke's Noah Pelletier (70), who would add one later in the game as they would get the 6-2 victory. It would be a divisional matchup in the St. Lawrence Division of the United States Premier Hockey League, with the New York Dynamo hosting the Universel Sherbrooke at the AC North Arena. Both teams are making a playoff push in the final 2 months of the season. The Dynamo would get the opening goal of the game just 1:18 in, courtesy of Brandon Murphy, to give them the early 1-0 lead. The game would stay there until the 9:20 mark of the second period, when the Dynamo would score again, this time from John Duffy, to give them the 2-0 lead. Sherbrook would answer back at the 14:14 mark of the period on the Charles Eric Leger goal to cut the deficit to 2-1. However, the Dynamo would answer back just over a minute later, as Maddox Heise scored too, making it a 3-1 game. Then, with just under 30 seconds left in the period, the Dynamo would extend their lead to 4-1 on Elkhan Abibekov's 5th goal of the season. The game would stay there until the 9:24 mark of the third period, when Elkhan Abibekov would score again for his 6th of the season, making it a 5-1 game. Sherbrooke would have answered with 1:54 left in the game, as Ty Mulcahy would score to make it 5-2. However, the Dynamo would have one last one in them, as Colton Warren made it a 6-2 win on his 14th of the season. In the winning effort for the Dynamo, Landon Blaine would make 42 saves on the night as they go to 11-16-1. As for Sherbrooke Universel, they combined for 14 saves as they fell to 12-17-1. Gallery
Northeastern Clinton Cougars @ Beekmantown Eagles January 6th 2026
Beekmantown's Jack Bell (31) with the stick save as he would have 23 saves on the night, en route to his 1,000th career save. It would be the first game of 2026 for both the Northeastern Clinton Cougars and the Beekmantown Eagles, and they would face off at the Plattsburgh State Field House in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference action. The game would remain scoreless until the final two seconds of the opening period, when Sullivan Loughan would light the lamp and make it a 1-0 game. The game would stay there until the 8:26 mark of the second period, when Jacoby Weeden would score on the power play and make it 2-0 Eagles. The Cougars kept coming and cut the deficit in half at 2-1 on the Josh Seymour goal with 1:41 left in the period. The Eagles would come out flying in the third, and they would regain the two-goal lead at 3-1 on the Ivan Roy goal at the 3:44 mark of the third. The Cougars would come back and make it a one-goal game again at the 8:12 mark of the period on the Scott Wyre goal. The Eagles would have one more answer and make it a two-goal game again at 4-2 on the Edward Sweenor goal at the 13:28 mark of the third. From there, the Eagles' defense would stand tall and get the 4-2 win, and in the winning effort, Jack Bell would have 23 saves on the night and arecordhis 1,000th career save as they go to 3-4-1. As for the Cougars, Greyson LaFountain made 21 saves on the night as they fell to 1-6 on the season. Gallery
Comfort Inn Cardinal Winter Classic Championship: Amherst Mammoth @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals January 3rd 2026
The Amherst Mammoth celebrate as they are crowned the 2026 Comfort Inn Cardinal Classic champions with the 3-2 win over the Plattsburgh State Cardinals. It would be the championship of the 2026 Comfort Inn Cardinal Classic, featuring the host Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the Amherst Mammoths at the Ronald Stafford Ice Arena, in front of 1,200 fans. The game would not look good for the home crowd, as the Mammoth would get the opening goal oatthe g1:01 mark of the first period on ta power-playgoal from Ray Hou, givingthem the 1-0 lead The game would stay there till the 3:39 mark of the second period when the Cardinals would answer back with their own powerplay goal coming from Quinn Tavares to tie the game at one. The Mammoth would answer right back two minutes later on their second power-play goal of the game from Josh Burke, making it a 2-1 game. The Cardinals would come back again, though, and tie the game back up at the 13:28 mark of the period, once again scoring on the power play this time from Gabriel Filion to make it 2-2. The game would stay until the last 5, when the Mammoth would strike their power-play goal of the game, this thing from John Sm, all to secure the 3-2 victory and the championship of the Comfort Inn Cardinal Classic. In the winning effort for the Mammoth, Vincent Lamberti would make 16 saves as they go to 5-4-1 on the season. As for the Cardinals, Rady Spry would make 28 on the night as they extended their 4-game winning streak, and they go into the end of the season. Gallery
Malone Huskies Vs Saranac Spartans January 3rd 2026
Malone's Blake Hanna (12) with the recieve lay in as he gets around Saranac's Carson Duffield (40) for the score. It would be the last game of the two-day Clinton Community College Holiday Classic, featuring the Saranac Spartans from Section VII and the Malone Huskies of Section X, in what has the potential to be the best game of the tournament, as both teams were coming off impressive wins on Tuesday. The game would go back and forth for the whole first half as the Huskies would hit a buzzer beater and send the game into the intermission at 32-31 Spartans When the teams return for the second half it would be more of the same out of the start but the Huskies would pull late with a 34-23 half and secure the 66-55 victory. In the winning effort, the Huskies would win the tournament and stay undefeated on the season. As for the Spartans, they would come up short and finish 500 on the season. Gallery
Boquet Valley Griffins Vs Plattsburgh Hornets January 3rd 2026
Plattsburgh's Olivia LaMountan (3) with the jumper from the wing over Boquet Valley's Charlee Orciani (14) for the score. It would be the third game of the day in the 2026 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic, featuring the Boquet Valley Griffins and the Plattsburgh Hornets, as the Hornets would look to win both on the week. The game would get off to a great start for the Hornets, who ran out to a 25-3 lead before the break. In the second half, the Griffins would do their best to get back in the game, but their slow start would kill them, as the Hornets would get the 35-19 victory. In the winning effort, the Hotnets would go 2-0 but finish second to the Saranac Spartans on point difference. As for the Griffins, they would go 0-2 on the week and end up fourth as they both look to conference play and a run at the sectionals. Gallery
Comfort Inn Winter Classic Consolation: Suffolk Rams Vs Wesleyan Rams January 3rd 2026
Wesleyan's Andrew Haxton (37) takes it on the breakaway and slides it past Suffolk's Austin McNicholas (1) ties the game at 2. It would be the consolation game of the 2026 Comfort Inn Cardinal Classic, featuring the Suffolk Rams and the Wesleyan Cardinals at the Ronald Stafford Ice Arena, in front of 200 fans. The Cardinals would get the opening goal of the game at the 10:22 mark of the first period from Danny Markham for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 2:21 mark of the second period when Suffok's Nolan Leonard would score to tie the game at 1. The Rams would keep coming and take the 2-1 lead on the Aidan O'Connell powerlay goal at the 8:07 mark. However, the Cardinals would answer right back 80 seconds later and end the game at two on the Andrew Haxton goal. The game would stay there through the rest of the regulations, and they would head to overtime. Over time, the Cardinals got the game-winner three minutes in thanks to D'Tlan Mar.... In the Cardinals' winning effort, Patrick McDevitt made, and they improved to 3-6 on the season. As for the Rams, Austin McNicholas made n9saves as they fell to 55-5-1 on the season, heading back into conference play. Gallery
Beekmantown Eagles Vs Willsboro Wolves January 3rd 2026
Beekmantown's Santino Debella (15) along the baseline and goes over Willsboro's Gavin Hathaway (22) for the score as the Eagles get the 56-27 victory. It would be the second game of the day at the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic, and it would be the consolation game on the boys' side, featuring the Beekmantown Eagles and Willsboro Wolves. The game would start well for the Eagles, as they would outscore the Wolves in the first quarter,0-0. In the second quarter, the Wolves would start to warm up and hold their own with a 13-8 quarter for the Eagles, and had a 33-8 lead at the break. When the teams return for the third quarter, it would be a close defensive quarter, as the Eagles would win 9-6 and take a 42-14 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Wolves would do their best to keep it tight, as the Eagles led 14-13 and secured the 56-27 victory. In the Eagles' effort, Garrett Pelkey wledthe way with 19 points as they gwent1-1 at the tournament and finished third. As for the Wolves, Connor Crowningshields would lead the way with 7 points as they went 0-2 on the week and both head into the section streaking after the break. Gallery
