#2 Saranac Spartans Vs #1 Northeastern Clinton Cougars November 1st 2024
The Northeastern Clinton Cougars are crowned the 2024 Section VII Class B Boy's Soccer champion for the second year in a row. It would be the Section VII Class B Boy's Soccer championship from the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse as the #1 Northeastern Clinton Cougars would take on the #2 Saranac Spartans with a berth in the New York state tournament on the line. The Cougars would waste little time in getting the game's opening goal as Evias Carpenter would score in the second minute to give them the early 1-0 lead. The defenses on both sides would stand tall for the rest of the half as neither team would score again in the half. When the teams would return for the second half, the Cougars would give themselves some breathing room in the 66th minute on the goal from Ashton Turner, and from there, the Cougars would hold on for the 2-0 win and be crowned the 2024 Section VII Class B Champions for the second year in a row as they will enter the tournament with an 11-2-4 record ranked 18th in the state and will take on the undefeated and number 4 team in the state Menachicsville in the opening round. Sranac Spartans @ Plattsburgh Hornets October 2nd 2024
Plattsburgh's Nate Baker (4) flies through the air for the shot attempt on the net as Saranac's (11) does his best to break up the play. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Spartans in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Soccer from the Plattsburgh High Sports Complex. The Hornets would get the scoring going first with a goal in the 6th minute from number 6 for the 1-0 lead. Then, in the 23rd minute, the Hornets would extend their lead to 2-0 on another goal. The Spartans would keep fighting and answer back in the 34 minute on the Michael Strack goal to make it a 2-1 game, but the Hornets would answer right back in the same minute to regain the two-goal lead at 3-1. The Spartans would keep fighting throughout the second half, making it a one-goal game at 3-2 in the 63rd minute. Although the Hornets would be able to fend off the challenges by the Spartans and get the win and go to 7-1P-1 on the season while the Spartans fall to 5-2-1 on the season. Gallery
