Plattsburgh's (19) crashes the net as he would be going for a goal on Bishop Timon's goalie. It would be a nonleague early morning contest at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Bishop Timons Tigers in Boy's Hockey action. The game would not start off well for the home Hornets as they would give up three goals in the first period from three different scorers. In the second period, the Hornets would seem to find their stride even though they wouldn't get on the board they would stay in the contest as the Tigers would only get one goal and take a 4-0 lead into the third period. In that third period though it would all come unglued for the Hornets as they would give up five goals and the Tigers would get the 9-0 victory. The Hornets will return to action on January 26th and look to get back on track as they take on the #9 Saranac Chiefs. Gallery

Bishop Timon's (13) cuts in front of the net and slides it under Plattsburgh's Owen Chapple (30) for the goal. Saranac's Nolan Miner (9) with the goal on the short side over the goalie to get the scoring started. It would be the battle for AC North as the two teams that both call Ameri-can North Arena home would faceoff in their first of two meetings on the season as the Saranac Chiefs would meet up with the Plattsburgh Hornets. The game would start off very well for the Chiefs as they would get the opening goal of the game just a minute into the game from Nolan Miner and the 1-0 lead. Then with about ten minutes left in the period, they would extend the lead to 2-0 on the goal by Ben Phinney and that's where the first period would end. In the second period, the Chiefs would stay hot as they would make it a 3-0 game just 2:25 into the period on a goal from Evan Patrie. Later in the period, the Chiefs would strike again staying hot as Landen Duprey would score to make it a 4-0 game. Then the third period would start just like the other two with a quick from Zach O'Connell although this time Jonathan Roy would add his own goal right behind O'Connell and make it a 6-0 game. From there the Chiefs would do the rest and get the 6-0 shutout victory and go to 4-1-2 on the season while the Hornets fall to 1-3 season. Gallery

Lasalle Cadets @ Beekmantown Eagles High School Boy's Hockey December 3rd 2022

The Lasalle defender would knock Beekmantown's Seamone (6) off the puck as he charged down the ice for the offensive zone. The Beekmantown Eagles would look to continue their hot start with another home contest against the Lasalle Cadets in nonconference action. The Eagles would get off to a fast start as they would get two goals in the opening period and take the 2-0 lead. When the second period came around, they would continue their hot hand as they added another two goals, both coming from Sam Bingel to take the 4-0 lead into the third period. In the third period, the Eagles would not let up having the big lead headed in as they would get three more goals two coming from Zack LaPier and one from Louis Sweenor to secure the 7-0 win for the Eagles. With the win, the Eagles go to 2-0 on the season and are yet to give up a goal after two shutout victories. Gallery

Plattsburgh's Jace Lacey (21) battles for the loose puck as they barrel down on the net with the Niskayuna defender. It would be the second night of a two game weekend for the Hornets to start the season as they would play host to the Mohawks from Niskayuna. The two teams would be very evenly matched throughout the afternoon and both teams would take there chance at getting that opening goal of the game. Although it would be a single goal scored the whole afternoon coming from Hutch Ovios in the closing seconds of the second period. The Hornets would add an empty net goal in the last minute of the game to secure the 2-0 victory. In the winning effort the Hornets finish off the opening weekend at 2-0 while the Mohawks fall to 0-2 on the season. Gallery

It would be the opening night of the 2022-23 Boy's Hockey season and the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Lasalle Cadets at the AC North arena. It would be a very even game throughout to the point that there was no scoring in the first period of the game. The Cadets would get the opening goal of the game at the 4:44 mark of the second period to take the 1-0 lead. The game would remain there till the 2:16 mark of the third period when the Hornets would tie the game on the Braeden Calkins goal. The Hornets would keep the charge going and take the 2-1 lead with about ten minutes left in the game on Braeden Calkins on his second goal of the night. The Cadets would not go quietly though as they would tie the game with six minutes left and that is where the regulation would end. The teams would play a five-minute overtime with no resolution and the game would end in a 2-2. With the tie the teams start their season at 0-0-1 an Owen Chappel would make 32 saves on 34 shots on the night. The Hornets will be back in action tomorrow afternoon against Niskayuna while Lasalle will take on the Beekmantown Eagles. Gallery

It would be the start of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey playoffs and it would begin with the play in-game as the #4 Plattsburgh Hornets would host the #5 Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers with the winner getting the #1 Beekmantown Eagles in the semi-finals on February 24th. The upset-minded Lakers would get the opening goal of the game just 3:02 into the game from Brady Tremblay for the 1-0 lead. The Hornets would keep up the fight and tie the game at the 6:38 mark of the period on the Bostyn Duquette goal. and that is where the first period would end. In the second period, the Hornets would take the lead at 2-1 at the 3:41 mark of the second period on the Hayden Colburn goal. The game from there would get very physical til the end of the game the Lakers would have many good opportunities to get the equalizer but just couldn't get there. In the closing seconds of the game, the Hornets would add the empty netter from Drew Knowles to secure the 3-1 victory. In the winning effort, Ty Calkins would make 20 saves as the Hornets advance to the Semi-finals of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and face off with the #1 Beekmantown Eagles Gallery
