Pittsburgh (11) with the kill over the outstretched arms of Beekmantown's (13) for the point. It would be a battle of a pair of undefeated volleyball squads from the Plattsburgh High Gym in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Volleyball action in front of a packed house. It would be a great match from start to finish. The first game would be a see-saw affair, with the Eagles getting it at 25-21. In the second game, it would be more of the same, but it would see the Hornets get out to a 23-17 lead, but the Eagles would go on a run to tie it at 23, and then they would need a volleyball version of overtime to get a winner as the Hornets take the second game 28-26. Then it would be onto game three, and with them splitting the first two, it has become a best of three, so this would be a vital same, and once again, it would come down to the end, and the Hornets would take the game 25-23 and take the 2-1 sets lead. Then it would be onto elimination game four, and the Eagles were not about to fly away without a fight. They would take it to the Hornets in game four by winning it 25-20 to force the deciding game five. In game five, though, it seemed the Eagles had run out of steam as the Hornets would take the game away with a 15-8 win and get the match won at 3-2. In the winning effort, the Hornets would stay undefeated at 4-0 on the season while the Eagles fall to 4-1. Gallery
