It would be the start of week 2 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season as we have the Plattsburgh Hornets hosting the Moriah Vikings in League action. The Vikings would get the first score of the game in the 1st quarter a run by Connor Anderson for the 8-0 lead. In the second quarter the Vikings would extend there lead to 16-0 on Connor Anderson second touchdown run of the day at 4:38of the quarter. The game would stay there til the 7:26 mark of the third quarter when Jay Sargent would take it 22 yards for the score and make it 24-0. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would get on the board on a 20-yard touchdown pass to Talon Bushey at the 8:10 mark to make it 24-8. Although the Vikings would answer right back a short run to secure the 31-8 victory. In the winning effort, the Vikings improve to 2-0 as they head home for Beekmantown next week. Saranac's Isaac Graham (88) with the two-handed catch headed towards the sidelines for the first down. The Saranac Chiefs would open up there season at home against the Plattsburgh Hornets. The Chiefs would strike quick for the early lead on the 60 yards run by Luke Maye for the 6-0 lead at 1:54 of the first quarter. The Chiefs would extend there lead to 14-0 on a Jacob Nolan 61 yard touchdown at the end of the quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would extend there lead to 22-0 on an Andy LaBeau interception for a touchdown. At the end of the Horners would finally get on the board to make it a 22-8 Chiefs lead at the break. The Horners would come out and try and make a game of it as they would return a fumble for a score to make it 22-14. Then with about two minutes left in the game the Chiefs would extend there lead 28-14 on a Jacob Nolan score. With that, the Chiefs would get the 28-14 win and go to 1-0 as the Hornets fall to 0-1. The Beekmantown Eagles pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2017 sectional champion. The #1 Plattsburgh Hornets would face off in the Section VII D2 championship with the #4 Beekmantown Eagles at the Plattsburgh Fieldhouse. This would be a game between two very evenly matched and would be a defensive game and game where both goals would perform great. The lone goal of the game would come with 46 seconds left in the first period when Matthew Maggy would tip the shot by Nathan Herbert. That would be all that the Eagles would need as they would hold on for the 1-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles advance to the NYS Division II playoffs and play the Salmon River Shamrocks. Gallery

Peru's Justin Laporte (10) with the fadeaway jumper in the lane for the score. The #1 Plattsburgh Hornets would meet up with the #4 Peru Indians in CVAC Class B Semi-Finals. This would be a tight game throughout the day and would eventually need two overtimes to decide it. The #1 Plattsburgh Hornets would get the win 61-59 in double overtime to advance to the finals against Northeastern Clinton Cougars. Gallery.

Beekmantown's Seamus Andrew (27) with the hoard hit along the end boards on the Plattsburgh staker that jars the puck loose. It would be a match between crosstown rivals for a good cause. As the Beekmantown Eagles would match up with the Plattsburgh Hornets in CVAC action. The Hornets would answer the bell first as they score 1:30 into the first period on Paul Fine-Lease's goal. The game would stay there till 2:34 into the second period when Plattsburgh's Seth Atwood would light the lamp to make it 2-0. The Hornets would expand there lead to 3-0 on Ben Champagnes' goal in the last 3 minutes of the second period. Although the Eagles would not give up the fight as they would score in the 6-minute mark of the third period on the Kaden Kowlaski goal. Although it would not be enough as the Hornets would secure the 3-1 victory and go to 10-4-1 while the Eagles fall to 7-9-1 on the season. Gallery.
