It would be the opening game of the Girls' Section VII Champions Challenge, and it would see the #9 Moriah Vikings from Class C take on the #11 Schroon Lake Wildcats from Class D at the Cinton Community College gym. The game would start very evenly matched with a 14-13 lead for the Schroon Lake Wildcats. When the second quarter rolled around, the Vikings took control of the game with a great showing on a 15-4 quarter and took the 28-18 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Wildcats would be able to get their game back again, but the Vikings' offense would stay hot as well, and the Vikings would win the quarter 16-14 and take the 44-32 lead into the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter would be another tight one, as defense would be the name of the game. The Vikings would win the quarter 8-7 and secure the 52-39 win. In the winning effort for the Vikings, Emma Harrington would lead the way with a 30-point game as they go to 18-4 on the season as they head into their New York State Tournament game against the Lisbon Golden Knights. As for the Schroon Lake Wildcats, they would fall to 14-7 on the season as Olivia Hartwell would have 17 points on the night as they head into their New York State Tournament game against the Chateaugay Bulldogs with a berth in the final four on the line. Moriah's Maddy Eichen (4) with the off balance shot as she drove to the basket as part of a four point game in the 52-39 victory over Schroon Lake Wildcats. It would be the opening game of the Girls' Section VII Champions Challenge, and it would see the #9 Moriah Vikings from Class C take on the #11 Schroon Lake Wildcats from Class D at the Cinton Community College gym. It would be the second game of the opening day of Section VII Basketball championship weekend; It would see a battle between the top 2 seeds in Class C Girls Basketball as we would have the #1 Moriah Vikings and the #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels. The upset-minded Sentinels would have the lead early by the slim 10-9 margin after the first quarter. When the second quarter came around, the Vikings would go on a run, have a 13-2 quarter, and take the 22-15 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Vikings would keep their hor roll going as they double up the Sentinels with an 11-6 quarter and take the 33-21 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Sentinels would do their best to try and get back in the game with a 16-12 quarter, but it would not be enough as the Vikings would get the 45-37 victory. In the winning effort for the Moriah Vikings, Emily Nephew would lead the way with 11 points as they go to 17-4 on the season and advance to the New York State Class C Girls' Basketball Tournament. The Moriah Vikings are crowned the 2025 Section VII Class C Champions as they defeat the Ticonderoga Sentinels 45-37. It would be the second game of the opening day of Section VII Basketball championship weekend; It would see a battle between the top 2 seeds in Class C Girls Basketball as we would have the #1 Moriah Vikings and the #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels. In the fourth quarter, the Sentinels would do their best to try and get back in the game with a 16-12 quarter, but it would not be enough as the Vikings would get the 45-37 victory. In the winning effort for the Moriah Vikings, Emily Nephew would lead the way with 11 points as they go to 17-4 on the season and advance to the New York State Class C Girls' Basketball Tournament. It would be a battle inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the #14 Moriah Vikings would travel up to Plattsburgh and take on the Hornets in a late-season tilt. The game would start well for the Vikings as their defense would be up to the task, and they would jump out to a 14-5 lead after the first quarter. It would be more of the same in the second quarter as they would hold the Hornets to nine points while getting another 15 for themselves to take the 29-14 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Hornets would regroup themselves, come out on fire, and take the third 12-7 to tighten up the game at 36-26 as they entered the fourth quarter. It would be the tightest in the fourth quarter as the Hornets would get the quarter 12-10, although the Vikings would hold on for the 46-38 victory. In the winning effort for the Vikings, they would go to 15-4 on the season as they head into their final regular season game next Tuesday against the Northern Adirondack Bobcats. As for the Plattsburgh Hornets, they fall to 6-14 as they finish their season, head to the Section VII Class A Playoffs, and take on the Beekmantown Eagles in the semi-finals. Gallery

The #3 ranked Duanesburg Eagles are crowned the 2024 NYSPHSAA Girl's Basketball Northern Regional Class C Champions with a 51-29 win over #25 Moriah Vikings. It would be the quarterfinals of the NYSPHSAA Girl's Basketball Class C Championship and it would be a battle of the top 25 teams as the #3 Duanesburg Eagles would travel up to Clinton Community College and take on the #25 Moriah Vikings from the host section VII. The upset-looking Vikings would get off to a good start as they would be doubling up the Eagles with a 9-4 opening quarter for the early lead. In the second quarter, the Eagles would start to cut into the lead of the Vikings as they would have a 10-6 quarter to give the Vikings the slight 15-14 lead at the intermission. When the teams would return for the second half the Eagles would come out soaring with a 12-3 quarter to take the eight-point lead of 26-18 into the fourth quarter. The Eagles would be too much in the fourth quarter as they would have a 25-11 quarter to close out the Vikings with the 51-29 victory. It would be the second game of the day from the Clinton Community College and this time it would be for the Section VII Class C Girls Basketball finals in front of another great crowd. It would get off to a slow start as both teams were feeling the pressure of the championship game and the upset-minded Sentinels would have the slim lead at 8-6 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Vikings would start to find their shot and groove on the court as they would have an 11-6 quarter and take the lead at 17-14 as the teams broke for the intermission. When they did return though the Sentinels would come back regrouped and focused as they would have a 13-8 quarter and take the slim 2-point lead at 27-25 as they entered the championship quarter in that quarter the Vikings would answer the bell and shut the Sentinels with a 12-6 quarter and get the Section VII C Girls Basketball title with a 37-33 victory. In the winning effort for the Vikings Hannah Bedore would lead the way with a 13-point afternoon. Next for the Vikings will be the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament and game back at Clinton Community on Saturday, March 9th against the winner of a game between the winner of Section X and II for the right to go to the state final four at Hudson Valley Community College.
