Section VII Boy's Basketball Class C Championship: #1 Moriah Vikings Vs #3 Ticonderoga Sentinels March 1st 2025

It would be the fourth game of the day from the Clinton Community College gym on the second day of championship weekend, and it would see the #1 Moriah Vikings and the #3 Ticonderog Setinels in the classic rivalry for the Class C Championship. It would be a high-scoring game to start the first eight minutes as the Vikings would race out to an 18-10 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Vikings would start to take control of the game with a 16-8 quarter and take the 34-18 lead into the intermission. When the teams would return for the third quarter, the high pace of the game would continue as the Vikings would win the quarter at 18-13 and take the 52-31 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Vikings would keep control and put the icing on the game with a 16-7 quarter to secure the 68-38 victory. In the winning effort for the Moriah Vikings, they punched their return ticket to the New York State Class C Tournament as Cooper Allen led the team with 27 points, and they went to 16-5 in the season. It would start the 2025 portion for the Plattsburgh Hornets as they would host the Ticonderoga Sentinels in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball action. The Hornets would start hot, and their defense would be up to task as they would shut them out in the first quarter at 11-0. When the second quarter would get underway, the Sentinels would find their shot, get on the offense,e and get in the game with a 14-12, although they would have the 23-14 lead as the team would head into the halftime break. When the teams returned for the third, the teams would play another tight quarter with some high scoring as the Hornets would win the quarter 17-16 and take the 40-30 lead into the 4th. In the fourth quarter, defense would be the game's name as the Sentinels would try and get back in the game, but the 9-7 would not be enough as the Hornets would hold on for the 47-39 victory. With the win, the Plattsburgh Hornets go to 5-2 on the season as they head into their next game Thursday night at Saranac. As for the Ticonderoga Sentinels, they will fall to 3-7 on the season as they head into their game next week at the Saranac Lake Red Storm. Gallery
