In the second quarter, the offenses for both teams would start to get in a rhyme in the early season contest as the Bears would win the quarter 20-12 and take the 30-20. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Bears would stay hot and win the quarter 16-11 and take the 46-31 lead into the 4th quarter. In the fourth quarter, the teams would play even throughout, and the Spartans would have the slim win of 14-13, but it would not be enough as the Bears would get the 59-45 victories. In the winning effort for the Bears, Xy'el Bradford would lead the way with 19 points as they went to 2-2 on the season.
