The Blue Streaks would get the game's opening goal, but it would take a bit as Gavin Partlow would score at the 10:33 mark of the first period to make it a 1-0 game. Then, just 26 seconds later, the Blue Streaks would make it 2-0 when Daniel Klochaney would score to give the Blue Streaks the 2-0 lead, and that's where the first period would end. The Spartans would come out in the second period and answer right off as Nolan Miner would score three minutes to make it a 2-1 game early in the second period. The game would stay there till the 12:15 mark of the period when the Blue Streaks would regain their two-goal lead at 3-1 when Ryan Barlow would score.
