The University of New England Noreasters would win the 2025 Comfort Inn Winter Classic with a 4-2 victory. However, the Cardinals would keep fighting and get the game within one again with 2:20 left when Kevin Weaver Vitale would roof the shot to make it 3-2. However, the Noreasters would finish the game in the final 13 seconds on the Nathan Chickering empty netter to secure the 4-2 victory. In the winning effort for the Noreasters, Stefan Carney made 27 saves, and they went to 9-5-1 in the season.
