Franklin County Field Days July 31st and August 1st 2009
The Adirondack Truck and Tractor Pullers Association return to Highgate, Vermont for their annual two-day show at the Franklin County Field Days. On Friday night it would be the truck with the 4x4 truck class and crowd favor street legal truck with an average of 20 in a class. Then on Saturday, it would be all day show with the tractors ranging from the farm stock all the way up to the pro stock class plus the Highgate tradition 4x4 tractor classes. Hockey Plus/Loreman's Padres vs Fourth Ward Athletics July 27th 2009
The celebration is on at home plate as the Padres would beat the Athletics 7-6 on a walk off base hit by Matt Rivers (#88). In a game that the Padres never lead until the walk off base hit in the 9th inning. The Athletics would roll out to an early 5-0 lead after the 5th inning. Before the Padres would come roaring back to win the game by that 7-6 score. With the win the Padres advance to the semi finals against the Expos in a best of three series that will see the Padres host game 1 on August 2nd at the Saranac High School and then Expos will host games 2 and 3 at Chip Cummings Field in Plattsburgh. The Padres and Expos finished the regular season tied for 2nd place and split the 4 games during the regular season. Gallery
Clinton County Fair Truck and Tractor Pull Plattsburgh, NY July 25th 2009
After a hard rain came through the fairgrounds just before the truck and tractor pull was about to start the show would be put on a 3-hour hold. Once the track was clear and ready to run through it was horsepower and because of that, there was a lot of break of on the night. Pictured is Justin Miller (Fort Covington, NY and Too Loose Nuts take it out the back door to win the 4x4 trucks class A and stay perfect in the early season. In the B class though he would fall just about 2 feet short to the Mad Dog and settle for 2nd place. Gallery
Clinton County Fair Street Legal Truck Pull Plattsburgh, NY July 22nd 2009
The Street Legal Truck Pull made its annual return to the Clinton County in Plattsburgh in front of a bunch of fairgoers. The numbers keep increasing every year and this year would be no different as there would be a total of 67 hooks between the six different classes that were offered. Hopkinton Field Days Truck & Tractor Pull Hopkinton, NY July 19th 2009
The Adirondack Truck and Tractor Pullers Association got their 2009 season off in Hopkinton, NY. They would have 4x4 trucks, pro stock tractors, altered stock tractors, and farm stock in attendance. In the 4x4 truck class, it would start off just as 2008 ended with Too Loose Nuts your 2008 champion winning the first event of the season and take the early season lead. The next stop for the ATPA will be the Clinton County Fair July 22nd for a street-legal truck pull and then on July 25th for a full show of trucks and tractors. Gallery
Plattsburgh North Stars @ Vermont Ice Storm July 18th 2009
The Plattsburgh North Stars would head across the lake this week to take on long time rival the Vermont Ice Storm at the Burlington High School. It would defensive game on both sides as it was tied at zero going into the 4th quarter. Then the North Star offense would respond as they would cruise to a 21-0 win over the Ice Storm and stay perfect on the season. The North Stars will be home this weekend July 25th to host the Quebec Titans. Pictured Elisa Parks (#35) getting upended as fights for yards on the ground. Gallery
Hockey Plus/Loreman's Padres @ Fourth Ward Cardinals July 12th 2009
The Fourth Ward Cardinals and the Hockey Plus/Loreman's Padres locked up for a big regular-season doubleheader as they came in #1 and #2 in the standings with the Cardinals up by 1.5 games. There would not be much settled on this day as Padres would split the doubleheader and stay a 1.5 apart headed into the final week of the season. The Padres would come from behind in game 1 to win it in the 7th inning 5-4. However, the Cardinals came back to calm the game 2 with a convincing 6-0 win. The Padres will finish off the regular season on July 19th with a doubleheader in Lyon Mountain against the Miners. Plattsburgh North Stars vs Broome County Dragons July 11th 2009
The Plattsburgh North Stars would start off their Empire League season with a well-fought victory over the Broome County Dragons 21-13 in a game that they never trailed in. The North Stars would use a stellar performance by the defense for the victory along with a good attack on the ground from Brandon Keleher has he would rush for over 100 yards on the day. The North Stars will be traveling to Vermont on July 18th to take on defending league champion the Vermont Ice Storm at 1:00 pm at South Burlington High School. Hockey Plus Padres @ Fourth Ward Athletics July 5th 2009
Hockey Plus/Loreman's Shane Perrotte (#2) slides in safe at second under the tag of Fourth Ward Athletic Riley Lawless (#1). The Padres continue their winning ways as they gain the weekend sweep against the Athletics and have now won 7 out of their last 8 games. They would use speed and the long ball for the wins as they won game #1 10-6 and take game 2 11-5. With the win, the Padres move into sole position of second place and are two games behind the Cardinals. The Padres will meet next weekend (July 12th) at Bailey Avenue Park in a doubleheader that will decide the regular-season champion. Gallery
Hockey Plus/Loreman Padres vs Meron/Renzi June 28th 2009
Hockey Plus/Loreman's Padres Shane Perrotte (#2) slides in safe at third base after legging out the triple in the 2nd game of a doubleheader. The Padres would go on to win the second game 10-5 after giving up five runs in the 1st inning they would shut down the Expos the rest of the game. The Expos would win the 1st game 7-0 to gain the split. With that, the Expos and Padres remained tied for second at 9-5 with 4 games remaining in the regular season. Gallery
