The Cardinals would take the 1-0 lead with just over three minutes left in the first period when Quinn Tavares would score. The game would stay there til there was 1:41 left in the second period when Blake Hall would score on the shorthand to make it a 2-0 game. The Cardinals would add a second shorthanded goal at the 1:59 mark of the third period when Josh Belgrave would score to make it a 3-0 game. Then, in the closing seconds of the game, the Cardinals would put the icing on the cake with Aaron Carter's goal to secure the 4-0 victory. In the winning effort for the Cardinals, Brady Spry would make 34 saves in the shutout win to go to 2-0 on the season.
