The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would face off with the Buffalo State Bengals in SUNYAC as they would face off for the second time in a week. It would be a tight game through the first half as both teams would have their chance to break it open but no luck and the Cardinals would have a 37-35 lead at the break. When the teams would return for the second half it would be more of the same as no one could break away and tie for the half at 40 each and the Cardinals would hold on for the 77-75 win. In the winning effort, Erik Salo would lead the way with 23 points as they get their first conference win of the season and go to 2-13 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Misa Dowdell (55) with the finger roll shot as the defender is all over her as part of a 6 point night. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would be hosting the Buffalo State Bengals in SUNYAC play. It would be tight through the first quarter the Cardinals would have a slim 17-16 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter it would be a different story as the Bengals would have shutdown defense and win the quarter 13-3 and the Cardinals would trail 29-20 as they head into the intermission, In the third quarter the offenses would both show up and the Cardinals would have a 21-18 quarter but they still would trail 47-41 as they head into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Cardinals would do their best to get back in the game with another 21-18 quarter. Although it wouldn't be enough as they would lose 65-62 and fall to 5-10 on the season and Hope Sullivan would lead the way with 13 points. Gallery

Cortland State Red Dragons @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals SUNYAC Women's Basketball Janaury 13th 2022

Plattsburgh State's Payton Couture (33) with in a close jumper with the defender on her hit as part of a five-point night. It would be the home opener of the 2022 portions of the season as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals host the Cortland State Red Dragons in SUNYAC action. It would not start off good for the home Cardinals as they would be down early and big after the first quarter 18-5 to the Red Dragons. The in the second quarter the Red Dragons would be a blur to the Cardinals with a 30-13 quarter and the Cardinals would trail 48-18 at the break. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Red Dragons would stay hot with a 17-7 quarter and have a 65-25 lead to head into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Cardinals wouldn't give up the fight and win the quarter 23-16. Although the Red Dragons would hold on for the convincing win at 81-48. as the Cardinals go to 3-8 on the season and the Red Dragons go to 9-2 on the season. Gallery

It would be the last game before the winter break as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Middlebury Panthers in front of just over 200 -fans. The first half would not go the way the home Cardinals were hoping for as they would be trailing the Panthers 47-34. In the second half, the Cardinals would do their best to try and keep it close but the Panthers would just do too much on this day as they would win the half 35-27 and secure the 82-61 for the Panthers. In a losing effort for the Cardinals, Kevin Tabb would have a team night 11 points as they would fall to 1-8 on the season with the next tilt after the New Year against the Clarkson Golden Knights. It would be a SUNYAC battle between North Country foes as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Potsdam State Bears in the first conference match of the season. It would be a hotly contested first half and see the Bears come out with the 38-29 lead at the half. In the second half the team's offensive would step up on both sides and the Cardinals would fight hard to get back in the game with a 51-46 half. Although it would not be enough as the Cardinals would fall 84-80. In the losing effort for the Cardinals, Erik Salo would lead the way with 22 points as they fall to 1-5 on the season. As for the Potsdam State Bears, Colton Huestis would lead the way with 22 points as they go to 2-2 on the season. Next up for the Cardinals will be the Cortland State Red Dragons on December 3rd. When the teams would come back for the second half the Cardinals would have some more fight in them but it would not be enough as the Red Dragons would win the half 47-37 and the Cardinals would fall on the afternoon 105-65.
