Plattsburgh State's Mitchell Hale (26) with the crunching hit along the broads on Cortland State's Shane Beaulieu (11) as he leads with the shoulder. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons in SUNYAC Men's Hockey action in front of 1300 fans at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The game would not start off good for the home Cardinals as the Red Dragons would take the early 1-0 lead three minutes into the game on the Doug Eglstram goal. Then just over four minutes later at the 7:42 mark of period the Red Dragons would extend there lead to 2-0 on the goal by Doug Eglstram his second of the night. The game would stay there till the 12:44 mark of the second period when the Red Dragons would strike again on the Shane Beaulieu goal to make it 3-0. The Cardinals would finally get on the broad just over 30 seconds later when Brandon Young would score to make it a 3-1 game. Then on the powerplay at the 16-minute mark, the Cardinals would strike again this time from Cullen Kane for his first goal as a Cardinal. The game would remain a one-goal till the 2:28 mark of the third when Doug Eglstram would get his hat trick goal and take the two-goal lead back. The game would stay there till the 11-minute mark of the third when Cullen Kane would strike again and make it a 4-3 game. Then just 12 seconds later the comeback would be complete when Andrew Pizzo would score off the face-off and we would have a 4-4 game. The game would change in the weirdest way with just under five minutes when Stefano Alzoni was trying to dump the puck down the ice Brandon Wells would try and catch it and it would bounce off his glove and end up in the net and that would end up being the winning foal as the Cardinals fall 5-4. In the losing effort, the Cardinals would combine for 20 saves as they fall to 6-11-3 on the season. Gallery.

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons in NCAA Division III SUNYAC Women's Basketball. The game would not start off good for the home Cardinals as they would be doubled up in the first quarter and trail 16-8. In the second quarter, the Cardinals would do there best to get back in the game and win the quarter but would trail 24-20 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half it would stat tight and the Dragons would win the third quarter 12-10 and the Cardinals would trail 36-30 as the head to the fourth. In that fourth quarter, there would be no change as they tie the quarter at 20 and the Cardinals would lose 56-50. In the losing effort, Taylor Clare would lead the way with 14 points as the Cardinals fall to 5-10 on the season and are right back in action against Oswego State Saturday. Gallery.

The game would not start off good for the home Cardinals as the Red Dragons would run out to a 40-29 lead by the intermission. Although when the teams would come back for the second half the Cardinals would bring their game and win the half 47-25 for the come from behind 76-72 victory. In the winning effort, the Cardinals would go to 6-9 on the season and Travis Cox would lead the way with 20 points. Next up for the Cardinals would be home game against the Oswego State Lakers. #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #3 Cortland State Red Dragons - NEWHL Tournament Finals - March 2nd 2019

Plattsburgh State's Mackenzie Millen (11) rifles the shot on net in the shoot looking for goal. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #3 Cortland State Red Dragons in the 2019 N.E.W.H.L. Championship. The Cardinals would take the early 1-0 lead four minutes into the first period from Erin McArdle. The Cardinals would extend the lead to 2-0 in the last few seconds of the first period on the Hanna Rose goal. In the second period Courtney Moriarty would get the goal at 6:34 for the 3-0 in the second period. Then three minutes later Annie Katonka would score to make it 4-0 Cardinals. Then in the final minute of the period Taylor Whitney would score for the 5-0 lead. That would end the scoring as there was nothing in the third period and the Cardinals would get the 5-0 victory to claim the 2019 NEWHL Chanpionship. In the winning effort Kassi Abbott would make 22 saves in the shootout as the Cardinals advance to the NCAA Tournament. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Damiil Ovchinnikov (13) with the slap shot on net just inside the blueline. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons as they fight for playoff positioning. The Cardinals would strike quick on Andrew Pizzio's goal at 1:34 of the first period to make it 1-0 Cardinals. Then at the 5:50 mark the Cardinals would extend there lead to 2-0 on Phillip Middleton's goal. Then with 6 minutes left in the period Ian Keller would score for Cortland to cut there lead in half at 2-1. The game would stay there til nine minute mark of the second period when Cam Owens would score for the Cardinals to regain the 2 goal lead at 3-1. Then just about two minutes later the Cardinals would score again to make 4-1. That is where the game would stay til the 11 minute mark of the third period when Cole Stallard would score for the Cardinals and secure the 5-1 victory. In the winning effort Jimmy Poerda would make 19 saves as the Cardinals would go to 11-11-2 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Kaitlyn Boyea-Gynup (8) setups for the save on Cortland State's Hannah Lorenzen (17) shot. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would open up there first season in the SINYAC conference with a game against #15 Cortland State Red Dragons ub front of 150 fans. It would be a rough one for the Cardinals as they would give up fourteen unanswered goals in the first half and trail 14-0 at the intermission. In the second half the Cardinals would get the first goal of the half from Emily Caoili. Although the joy would be short lived as the Red Dragons would get seven more unanswered and secure the Cardinals defeat at 21-1. In the losing effort Alexa Cassidy and Kaitlyn Boyea-Gynup would combine for ten saves as the Cardinals go to 1-6 on the season.Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons in SUNYAC action. The game would be tight through the first quarter and be tied at 14. In the second quarter the Cardinals would start to pull away with a 21-16 quarter and have a 35-30 lead at the intermission. When teams came back for the third quarter the Cardinals would take control and win the quarter 17-11 and have a 52-41 lead. In the fourth quarter the Cardinals would just mantian the lead with 19-17 quarter for the 71-58 victory. As for the game it would be SUNYAC foes Plattsburgh State Cardinals hosting the Cortland State Red Dragons as they battle for second place in the conference. The Cardnals would use the home court to take the early control of the game as they would race out to the lead and have a 49-39 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the Red Dragons would do there best to make a game out of it and win the second half 38-32. Although it would not be enough as the Cardinalsd would take the 71-67 victory. In the winning effort the Cardinals would go to 18-4 while Jonathan Patron would lead the way with 23 points.
