It would be the opening game of Section VII Basketball Championship weekend from the campus of Clinton Community College and it would feature #1 Beekmantown Eagles and #2 Peru Nighthawks in the Girl's Class A Finals. The Nighthawks would come into the game with upset on their mind and in the first quarter they would show it with a 10-4 quarter. In the second quarter, it would be the complete opposite as the Eagles would settle and their offense would come as they would win the quarter 10-3 and have a slim 14-13 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter the teams would play very evenly as the game would be tied at 26 as they head into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter the Eagles would have a 16-10 quarter as there would be over a third of the points scored in just that quarter along the Eagles would get the come-from-behind victory at 42-36. It would be a matchup inside the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference of Section VII Girl's Basketball in Plattsburgh as the Seton Catholic Knights would host the Boquet Valley Griffins in a rematch of the Section VII Class D Finals from a year ago that took place about 5 miles down the road. The game would be low-scoring through the opening eight minutes as the home Knights would have the 9-8 lead. In the second quarter, the scoring would stay low as the defense would still stand tall as the Griffins would win the quarter 9-6 and take the 17-15 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter it would be another great defensive quarter as the Knights would get the 6-5 quarter but the Griffins would still have the 22-21 lead as they went to the fourth. In the fourth quarter, there would be a milestone that would be reached as Ella Lobdell would be the newest member of the 1,000-point club and from there it would seem like both teams had a major weight lifted off them as the Griffins would end up winning the quarter 16-11 which would be half the team's points in that quarter alone. The Griffins would get the 38-32 win and go to 12-7 on the season as they head into the playoffs as the Knights fall to 9-11 on the season. Gallery

Saranac's McHenna Brown (2) goes in on the breakaway and lays it off the window for the score. It would be a matchup inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference in Plattsburgh tonight as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the #10 Saranac Spartans in girls' basketball action. The Spartans would show off why they are the tenth team in the state as they would get off to a quick start and take the 19-7 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the home Hornets would do their best to keep the game where it is as the Spartans would have a 17-13 quarter and take the 36-20 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half and the third quarter the Hornets would try and get back in the game with a 13-11 quarter but the Spartans would still have the 47-33 lead as they would go into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Spartans would leave little to decide the game as they would outscore the Hornets 18-6 and take the 65-39 win. With the win the Spartans will go to 15-2 on the season as they head into their matchup next week with the Peru Nighthawks as the Plattsburgh Hornets fall to 8-9 on the season. Gallery

It would be a matchup inside the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference in Plattsburgh as the Bolton Jaguars would travel up to take on the Seton Catholic Knights in Girl's Basketball action. It would be a slow start out of the gate as the Seton Catholic Knights would hold just the 8-1 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the offense would start to heat out for the Knights as they would have a 10-4 quarter and take the 18-5 lead into the intermission. When the teams would return for the third quarter the defenses would still stay on top as the Knights would have a 8-4 quarter and take the 26-9 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter with it looking like the Knights would have the game in hand the Jaguars would do their best to get back in the game with an 11-8 quarter but the nights would hold on for the 34-20 victory. In the winning effort, the Seton Catholic Knights get back to 500 on the season as they are now 9-9 while the Bolton Eagles suffer just their third loss on the season and are 14-3. The Ticonderoga Sentinels and the Plattsburgh Hornets would start off the 2024 portion of their season at the Plattsburgh High School in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference action. The game would be tight through the first quarter and the Hornets would hold a slight lead at 15-14. In the second quarter, the Hornets would start to pull away as they held Ticonderoga to four points while scoring ten and taking a 25-18 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter the Hornets would keep on the gas and have a 13-9 quarter and take a 38-27 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Sentinels would do their best to get back in the game with an 18-15 quarter but the Hornets would take the 53-45 win. In the win, the Hornets would get back to the 500 mark at 5-5 while the Sentinels would only suffer their second loss of the season and go to 8-2. Gallery
