It would be an interconference matchup inside section seven boys' basketball this Saturday afternoon as the Plattsburgh Hornets would be one of the top teams in the section this year the Crown Point Panthers. The bigger Plattsburgh Hornets would leave little to the imagination on this day as they would have their way with the Panthers in the first half and have a 47-19 lead at the break. When the teams returned for the third quarter it would be more of the same as the Hornets would have a 27-15 quarter and take a 74-34 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would empty the bench and get everyone in the game and the Panthers would win the quarter 16-10 but on the scoreboard, it would be all Hornets on this afternoon with an 84-51 victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets would improve to 10-8 on the season and the Panthers would fall to 12-5 as both teams are coming down the playoff stretch and are looking forward to the sectionals. Beekmantown Eagles @ Plattsburgh Hornets February 6th 2024

Plattsburgh's Landon LaDue (0) with good use of the head with the block shot on Beekmantown's Leo Williams (2) on the drive to the basket. It would be the crosstown rivalry matchup as the Beekmantown Eagles would make the short 7-mile trek over to Plattsburgh High School and take on the Hornets in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball action. The game would be tight through the first 8 minutes of the game with the Hornets having a slim 14-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter the game would stay tight but the the Eagles would have a better quarter with a 17-12 quarter and take the 30-26 lead into the break. When the teams returned for the second half the Eagles would stay hot and be able to expand on their lead at 48-38 as they would have a 18-12 quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would just be too much for the Hornets on this night as they would have a 14-10 quarter and capture the 62-48 win. In the winning effort, the Eagles go to 7-5 while the Hornets fall to 8-6 on the season as the two teams battle for the division win down the stretch. Gallery

Ausable Valley Patriots @ Plattsburgh Hornets February 1st 2024

Plattsburgh's Bryan Kemokai with the two from the wing as part of a six-point night. It would be a matchup inside the Champlain Valley athletic conference in section VII tonight from the Plattsburgh High School as the Plattsburgh Hornets would meet up with the Patriots from Ausable Valley on the hardwood in boys basketball. The Hornets would jump out to a fast pace on the start and have a 23-6 lead on the Patriots after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter, the Patriots would have a better offensive output but the Hornets would still win the quarter 23-14 and take the 46-20 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter it would be more of the same as the Hornets would have a 26-11 quarter and take the convincing 72-31 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter both teams would unload the benches and the Hornets would get the 10-5 quarter for the 82-36 victory. In the win for the Hornets, Max Filosca would lead the way with 12 points as they went to 8-3 on the season while the Patriots would fall to 2-11 on the season but Hayden Bombard would lead all scorers with 18 points on the night. Northern Adirondack Bobcats @ Plattsburgh Hornets January 18th 2024

Plattsburgh's Logan Rodriquez (24) with the block from behind on Northern Adirondack's Calvin Magoon (24) on the scoring attempt. It would be Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball action from Plattsburgh as the Hornets would host the Northern Adirondack Bobcats. The game would be tight through the first quarter as the visiting Bobcats would hold the slight lead at 17-16. However, in the second quarter, the Hornets would step up all around with the offense and defense as they would win the quarter 16-4 and take a 32-21 lead into the intermission. When the teams would return for the third quarter the Bobcats would find their game and the quarter would be a lot more even as the Hornets would win the quarter 21-18 and take the 53-39 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, it would be another even one as the Hornets would win it 16-13 to secure the 69-52 victory. In the winning effort, Logan Rodriquez would lead the way in a 15-point game as the Hornets go to 7-2 on the season and the Bobcats fall to 8-3. Gallery
