ECAC Hockey Conferene Women's Hockey Championship: #1 Yale Bulldogs Vs #3 Quinnipiac Bobcats March 7th 2026

Quinnipiac's Felicia Frank (30) with the pad save as part of a 31 save performance to win the championship and tournament MVP. After the ECAC Hockey Conference Men battle for the title at the Herb Brooks Arena for over 20 years, this would be the first time that the Women decide their title there, and the first finals would see the #1 Yale Bulldogs and the #3 Quinnipiac Bobcats go to battle in front of 2,200 fans. The upset-minded Bobcats would get the first answer of the game at the 6:32 mark of the first period when Ella Johnson would get the opening goal to make it a 1-0 game, and that's how the first period ended. The game would stay there till the 9:21 mark of the second period when last night's hero, Avery Bairos, would score to make it a 2-0 Bobcats lead for the lone goal of the second period. The Bobcats would keep coming, and at the 3:45 mark of the third period, Zoe Uens would score on the power play to make it a 3-0 game. Then, at the 12:54 mark of the third period, the Bulldogs would get on the board thanks to Mariya Rauf finding the 5-hole, making it a 3-1 game. Then, with just under three minutes left in the game, the Bobcats would add to empty netters from Ella Johnson and Emerson Jarvis to secure the 5-1 victory and be crowned the 2026 ECAC Hockey Conference Women's Hockey Champion and earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. In the winning effort for the Bobcats, Felicia Frank would make 31 saves as they went to 28-8-3 on the season. Princeton's Angelina DiGirolamo would tie the game up with 12 minutes left and send the game to overtime. It would be the second semi-final of the ECAC Hockey Conference Women's Semi-Finals at the Herb Brooks Arena, and 1,000 fans would see whether the #2 Princeton Tigers or the #3 Quinnipiac Bobcats would battle the Yale Bulldogs for the 2026 ECAC Hockey Conference Women's Hockey Finals tomorrow The Bobcats would get the opening goal of the game at the the 11:38 mark of the first period when Taylor Brueske would score to make it a 1-0 Bobcats. There would be many chances for both teams to score until the midway point of the third period. Still, there would be nothing till the 8:38 when Princeton's Angelina Digirolamo would score to tie the game at one, and that is where the game would stay through the rest of regulation Once the game went to vertime it would take little time for the Bobcats to net the game winner when Avery Bairos would get her own rebound off the breakaway and stuff it away for the game winner and send the Bobcats to the championship. In the winning effort, the Bobcats' Felicia Frank would make 30 saves as they went to 27-8-3 and head to the championship. #1 Quinnipaic Bobcats Vs #6 Cornell Big Red March 21st 2025
The Cornell Big Red celebrate their overtime winner to advance to the ECAC Hockey Finals Saturday night with their 3-2 win over the Quinnipac Bobcats. The ECAC Hockey would make there annual return to Lake Placid and the home of Miracles for there final four and there first game would see the #1 Quinnipac Bobcats and the #6 Cornell Big Red battle for a spot in the championship game Saturday evening in front of 5300 fans. The Big Red would start the scoring in the first period when Jonathan Castagna would strike on the powerplay for his fifth goal of the season to give them the 1-0 lead with just 4 seconds left in the first period. In the second period, the Bobcats would answer back at the 14:09 mark when Andon Cerbone would score his 15th of the season and tie the game at one, and that's how the game would go to the third period. In the third period, the Bobcats would get their first lead at 14:42 when Chris Pelosi scored. Then with the Big Red down a man and pulling the goalie to even it back up, Kyler Kovich would score for his fifth goal of the season to send the game to overtime. In overtime, the Bobcats would take a slashing penalty, and Tim Reggo would rifle it past the goaltender for the game winner at the 14:39 mark of the overtime and advance to the finals with a 3-2 victory to take on the winner of Clarkson and Dartmouth in the other semi-finals. In the winning effort for the Big Red, Ian Shane would make 22 saves in the afternoon as they go to 17-10-6 in the season. ECAC Tournament Semi-Finals: #1 Quinnipaic Bobcats Vs #7 St Lawerence Saints March 22nd 2024
St. Lawerence's Ben Kraws (31) with a save right to the chest off the stick of Quinnipiac's Anthony Cipollone (18) as they looked to get on the board. It is that time of year as we head back to Lake Placid, NY, and the Herb Brooks Arena for the ECAC Championship weekend for the 20th edition that would take place in Lake Placid and the first game of the semi-finals night would see the #1 Quinnipiac Bobcats and the #7 St Lawerence Saints in front of around 4,000 fans. The game would be scoreless through the first period with the teams each getting six shots on net. In the second period the Cinderella team of the tournament the Saints would get the 1-0 lead 7:43 into the period on Tomas Mazura's goal only his sixth of the season. The Saints wouldn't be done though just about four minutes later they would score again this time on the Powerplay from Max Dorrington for only second on the season and take the 2-0 lead and that's how the second period would end. In the third period the Saint's defense would be up to the challenge as they would be able to stop all that the Bobcats would throw at them and get an empty netter in the closing minute of the game from Ty Naaykens for the 3-0 win. With the win the Saint's dream playoff season will continue for one more night as they advance to the championship tomorrow night against the winner of the Cornell Big Red and the Dartmouth Big Green for the right to head to the NCAA Tournament. In the winning effort, the Saint's Ben Kraws would make 22 saves for the shutout victory as they go to 14-8-6 on the season while the Quinnipiac Bobcats will wait for there at large bid Sunday and go to 26-9-2 on the season. Quinnipiac's Ethan De Jong (10) ties the game up at one in the early stages of the third period with the powerplay goal. It would be the opening game of the ECAC Tournament final four from the Olympic Center in Lake Placid, NY and it would feature the #1 seeded and #3 ranked nationally the Quinnipiac Bobcats and the #5 seeded Colgate Red Raiders. The upset-minded Red Raiders would crack the ice first with just under 3:15 left in the first period on the Daniel Panetta goal to give the Red Raiders the 1-0 and that's where the first period would end. Both teams would have their chances throughout the second period although the defenses on both sides would stand tall as neither team would be able to find the back of the net and the Red Raiders would hold onto the 1-0 lead as they entered the third period. In the third period, the Bobcats would finally break into score collum on the powerplay goal by Ethan De Jong just 3:47 into the period. From there the defenses would hold tight and neither team could take advantage and they would end regulation tied at one. From there the teams would head to the overtime tied at one and it would not be for the lack of chances but the game-winner would take til the 8:50 mark of the second overtime when Ross Mitton would tap in the rebound passed an outstretched Yaniv Perets for the game-winner. With the win, the Colgate Red Raiders advance to the finals of the ECAC Tournament for the first time since 2014 and go for their first Whitelaw Cup since 1990. While the Quinnipiac Bobcats will wait till selection Sunday to see if they would stay on the one-line for the NCAA Tournament. Gallery
