A strong crowd was on hand on a true Chamber‑of‑Commerce evening. After all the heat races were completed, the first feature of the night was the JS Steel Sportsman Modifieds, with 20 cars taking the green for the 25‑lap event. Dylan Rabtoy grabbed the lead at the start and faced an early challenge from Tanner Forbes, but Rabtoy steadily pulled away. Travis Bruno and Bucko Branham did their best to close the gap late, but Rabtoy was the class of the field, leading all 25 laps for the win and strengthening his hold on a top‑15 spot in the standings. In the points battle, Bruno finished 2nd while points leader Nick Heywood came home 8th, tightening the gap to under five points. Next up were the Hartson Total Opening 358 Modifieds, with 18 cars set for 30 laps. Preston Forbes took the early lead, but the story quickly became Mike Mahaney, who started 11th and charged through the field by ripping the top. A caution bunched the field, putting Forbes and Mahaney in the front rows. They battled for a couple of laps before Mahaney powered away to score his third straight win at Airborne Park Speedway. Tim Fuller completed the podium, and with points leader Felix Roy finishing 9th, Mahaney also took over the points lead. The RainPro of Vermont Limited Sportsman Modifieds were next for their 20‑lap feature, with 14 cars taking the green. Parker Dermody led early with pressure from Adam LaFountain, who eventually faded. The late‑race battle came down to Dermody and David Johnson, with Johnson taking the lead with about five laps to go. He went on to claim his third win of the season, followed by Brogan Roberts and Josh Patterson. Points leader Gary English finished 4th, while Kobe Hernandez finished 6th, slightly extending his advantage. Then came the Mini Stock 15‑lap event with a massive 27‑car field. The chaos began immediately as the leader spun in turn one on the initial start. On the restart, Randy Martin took the lead with Glen Engstrom close behind, but Speedy Bressette, Jake Fountain, and JP Corrow were charging through the pack. In the closing laps, Bressette worked past Martin to take the win, with Fountain finishing third. Points leader JP Corrow padded his lead over Jeremiah King, who finished 13th. The final race of the night was the Renegades, with 12 cars taking the green for 20 laps. Nathaniel Guay led early and was challenged throughout by Billy Thwaits and Shawn Duquette. Thwaits eventually made his move, taking the lead and scoring his second win of the season. With the top two in points finishing 2nd and 3rd, the championship battle remains tight through five races. Airborne Park Speedway returns to action on June 11th for one of the biggest events of the season as the DIRTcar 358 Modified and Sportsman Modified Series make their annual stop, along with the weekly racing divisions. Mike Mahaney (35) celeberates his win in the Dirtcar 358 Modifieds over Adam Pierson and Thomas Cook. Airborne Park Speedway hosted Round Three of the 2026 campaign on Thursday night as the facility celebrated Hometown Heroes Night, recognizing Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement personnel for their service. A total of 105 competitors signed in across the DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, J+S Steel Sportsman Modifieds, Rain Pro of Vermont Limited Sportsman Modifieds, Renegades, Mini Stocks, and Crown Vics, creating one of the most competitive fields of the season. The program opened with the Rain Pro of Vermont Limited Sportsman Modifieds. Sarah Ann Lauziere powered to the lead at the initial green flag and controlled the event from start to finish. Gary English applied pressure throughout the early and middle stages, but it was Kobe Hernandez who mounted the strongest late‑race charge, advancing to second and relegating English to third at the checkered flag. The DIRTcar 358 Modifieds took center stage next for their 30‑lap feature. Adam Pierson established himself as the early leader, holding off an initial bid from Thomas Cook. A mid‑race restart brought Mike Mahaney to Pierson’s outside, and Mahaney capitalized immediately—using the high lane through turn one to seize the top spot. From there, he drove away to secure his first Airborne victory of the 2026 season. The Renegades rolled out for their 20‑lap main event with 11 cars answering the call. Josh Terry led the opening circuits before Billy Thwaits and Shawn Duquette closed in. In the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified division, the opening laps featured a tight side‑by‑side battle between Dylan Rabtoy and Michael Wright. Rabtoy eventually gained control, while Wright later retired with an apparent engine issue. The race then shifted into a three‑way contest among Rabtoy, Bruno, and a fast‑closing Nick Heywood. In the closing laps, Heywood completed his charge to the front, overtaking Bruno for the lead and driving on to the victory. Jason McClatchie also slipped past Bruno to secure the runner‑up position. The Crown Vics followed with their 15‑lap feature. Richie Turner wasted no time asserting himself at the front, taking command at the start and pulling away to a convincing win. Trevor Jaques and Scott Richner completed the podium. The evening concluded with the 15‑lap Mini Stock finale. Tyler Bell and Caleb Tourville set the early pace before Tourville began to fade. That opened the door for JP Corrow and Randy Martin, both of whom climbed steadily from mid‑pack to charge into contention as the race reached its final laps. Gallery
