Kid Bike Ride Night at Airborne Park Speedway July 18th 2024

It would be great racing from the drop of the green flag on as Gelix Roy (91), George Foley (34), and Patrick Dupree (24) take it three wide through turns 1 and 2 of Heat 1 of the 358 Modifieds. We would be back in action at Airborne Park Speedway with Kid's Bike Night as they would return after taking a week off for the Clinton County Fair. To make the return to the track all four divisions would be in action with the Be Cool Heating and Air Condition 358 Modifieds, J+S Steel Sportsman Modified, 9th State Cannabis, and the Moore Recycling Mini Stocks there would be around 85 cars in the pits. After the heats races were run and before the mains were run there would be kid bike races along with the race car drivers driving the bikes. As for the racing on track, we would start with the mains with the Be Cool Heating and Air Condition 358 Modifieds and it would be a wire-to-wire win for Steve Bernier as he would be on a rail and lap up to the seventh place rounding out the top three would be Felix Roy and Justin Stone. Then it would be on to the 25-lap event for the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified and the early race leader would be Caleb Durgan but then the race would be on between him and Mike Phinney for the lead and Phinney would take the race lead. Then with five laps to go there would be multiple restarts due to incidents on the track and the hard-charging Joey Scarbrough would have multiple chances to take the lead. Still, Phinney would hold them off to get his first win of the season over Joey Scarbrough and Travis Bruno. Then we would be onto the 9th State Cannabis Renegades and their 20-lap affair and see Shawn Fountain take the lead off the start but the lead would be short-lived as Richie Turner would get around him for the lead. Then the racing would get good between him and Shawn Duquette as they went side by side for many laps until Duquette would move ahead for the lead and the eventual win over Richie Turner and Josh Terry. Then to finish off the night it would be the Moore Recycling Mini Stocks for there 15 lap main and would see Jason Bradley get the early lead until his car died coming off the fourth turn Glen Engstrom would inherit the lead but there would be a hard charger coming and Kris Clark would get the win from his 13th starting spot over Josh Blake and Cale Manor. Then in the B Main, it would see Cody Agoney get the lead but he would be passed by Jamie Whitney Jr as he would get his first career win. The Airborne Park Speedway will be back in action next Thursday as the American Racer North 358 Modified Series will make its first-ever appearance at the track for 60 laps all with the other weekly division.
